Milltek Quad Pipes.....

Post by Oli » Thu Mar 19, 2009 8:17 pm

......will be able to order from end of April and I am waiting till then - I REALLY like them, much more aggressive, in my view.

What do you think ( I know some will think a bit S4, but each to their own)

It looks 'OK', I just think the RS4 B7 is just so suited to having oval pipes, but, it does break up the monotonous look as all RS4 have ovals, depending on what you want to achieve. This seems to be a very popular America mod, I have a few pics in my archives, I will have to dig them out, esp of other makes, such as Tubi and Supersprint!

Yeah difficult one really!! The oval tail pipe has become a signiture of the RS models, firstly on the RS6 C5 and then since then on all RS cars. While I do like quads having had an M3 before my RS4, I'm just not sure they make it look that special?? or anymore agressive?

As you say each to their own just be sure you really want them as not sure how easy they would be to move on later.....

I would imagine that it would be easy to swap it back to a Milltek Oval if you was to get "bored" of the quad look, as the Milltek oval still has the quad ports set back in the Oval pipes...call APS (or whoever and ask them)!

I could be wron here but i though only the valved system had quad sections because of the valve a non valved system just has 1 larger exit into the oval tip......?

As i said could be wrong but this is what I was lead to believe!!??

Personally I think it degrades the car. Almost every other modded A4 B7 are running the quad pipes as standard, is that something that an RS4 should be following? :?

I love the Milltek, saving for a non-res valved (with oval exits) at the moment.

If you are going for quad pipes may as well get a Tubi, IMO sounds better, but then both do detract from the OEM look if that is your sort of thing. Not mine personally.

good man they are well worth the money..... why don't you snap up one of the nearly new milltek exhausts that appear in the classifieds for half the money?

I imagine because they don't come with the lifetime warranty if things go wrong with them when secondhand
