hi guys ,

anyone use a car paintwork restorer or good wheel refurber they can recommend near glasgow,car could do with a good paint buffering to get rid of the usual swirl marks and want the wheels done in gunmetal grey cheers?

Not sure exactly where they are in Scotland but Polished Bliss are the business when it comes to detailing. Google then as they have a great website as well.

Hi, Post me some pic's of the engine bay on your R32 & I'll see if I can make carbon fibre stuff for the engine bay area..

i think he's selling that car bacuse on another link he states he's picking up his rs4 on Friday.......... so he probably won't want carbon bits for the r32.

But the R32 guy's on www.r32oc.com would be interested. However they must be functional rather than a cover, no point adding weight to an already overweight hatchback. OSIR do quite a few items for the Mk5 .:R although they are VERY expensive.

I perv over the work on DTW on occasions but not registered yet. Those guy's are certainly dedicated.

How did you get the brick affect on to the car?? no nice job should take it up full time as i've heard that they charge ridiculus money for a car fully detailed

I disagree, the time they spend on the cars, sometimes up to 12 hours and the cost of some of the waxes together with the result, I feel it is excellent value for money.

Sorry but 6-700 pounds for a valet seems rediculus to me and i don't mind spending money on my car

Brooner, I've just had my car done and on the RS4 Avants it is a two day job, largely because the paint / lacquer is so rock hard it needs at least 3 hits per panel to get rid of the swirls. The roof alone takes 4 hours!

Given that if quoted £600 then that is £300 per day at around £37.50 per hour including materials. Mine came coated with Zymol Royale which isn't cheap and you can tell. Didn't have to wash mine for two weeks and 1200 miles of driving.

Yeah, its a 2 day job to do an Avant correctly. P_G, did you get yours done by Matt at OYM?

Much as I love my RS4 Avant spending £600 to make it "shiny" is not something that I can see as good value, except maybe when the time comes to sell it (so not for a long time yet).

It's not just about making it 'shiny'. Mine was to eliminate swirls marks, the spiders webs you get in the paint work irrespective of how well you wash and maintain it and some pretty serious scratches in the lacquer particularly around the bootlid and bumpers where the car has been nerfed a few times in car parks.

One every 12-18 months is good to bring the paintwork back up to condition.
