OEM Bluetooth fitted

Post by sonny » Fri Feb 27, 2009 5:44 pm

OK I had some in car mods done early in the month, I had the OEM blue tooth fitted (finally got rid of that horrid looking Parrot), even though I do think the Parrot is more user friendly while driving!

I also had the TV in motion unlocked and the updated software RS4 splash screen done on the SAT NAV, I must admit I have the TV on all the time now, comes in rather handy on long runs.

A belated Big thanks to CraigyB who is a forum member, great job fella, and also a good price too!

If any of you guys wish to have updated TV, SATNAV, BT etc etc this is the chap to see.

Is he any relation to CraigyB

I know what you mean about the usability thing, SDS really helps with this and is a relatively straight forward retrofit.

Ooops amended..been a long day lol

Yes I am happy with the OEM BT, like the way it looks on the SAT NAV screen a "rather funky green" colour, great, TBH I cant see how ppl would order a car (55k+) and not order the basic option..this car had no phone prep what so ever!

The reason is that some dealers told buyers that ordering the BT would mean they lost the RS4 steering wheel...

Am I allowed to ask how much? I'm interested in the BT, but a regular BT headset might do for a lot less.

Apologies if $$$/£££ talk is forbidden.

I'd be very keen to know more about the bluetooth too. I'd also heard that the flat-bottomed wheel was not compatible with BT. :?

Ok I see, could explain it, however the BT works fine with the SAT NAV, however, there is no voice command button as its a sports steering wheel, im sure Craig was talking about having one dash mounted by the sports button! just push, hold and talk!...great if it did, that would come in handy!

Guys drop CraigyB a PM, and he will be delighted to give you a price, I was happy with the price I got and what I had done! sorry don't want to give pics over the site.

I fitted the very same S button SDS mod myself and it works very well, also easy to do assuming you can get hold of a can-gate interface.

The bluetooth module fitting depends on your level of DIY competency however as a rough guide the module itself can be sourced for around £3-400 dependent if you want brand new with 12 month warranty or reconditioned / second hand

Hi Andy, yes I did read that write up (good thread) but what it was worth, I would of rather have had CraigyB do it, as by all accounts he is a "pro", and did not want myself breaking something lol, plus he did m a good price for what I had done so cant complain really.

I've put the Fiscin(spelling) version in mine, and it works the same as OEM - I'm really pleased with it - Cost me £200!
