I just wanted to say Howdo to all ! I bought an RS4 Avant just before Xmas, traded in my '03 E46 M3. I think I made the right choice though still early days. I work offshore and hence only had 4 days with the car prior to leaving. I get back home this Thursday so as you can imagine I am looking forward to my first BLAST ! I've been reading your threads the last few weeks and have learn't a lot. Thanks very much !

You won't be disappointed! My RS4 followed an E46 M3 - and I am nearly 3 yrs into it now. It's so good i intend to keep it...
Now you have a car with proper brakes too - whilst the M3 is a good car, the brakes were absolute rubbish!
I don't have to mention the difference in the wet either... You wait and see...
Welcome!

Welcome, and congratulations on buying a proper RS, rather than one of those frightfully common saloons or rather gauche convertibles.

Any more details on the spec?

Thanks very much for the greetings !
RJK - Copy that on the brakes . I was wandering how reliable has the RS4 been in the 3 years ? I had my M3 for 3 years without any hassles.
GMK - the spec :
Nov 06 with 24k miles, Sprint Blue, Technology pack, Carbon trim, flat steering wheel, RS Bucket seats, Privacy glass.
I got it from Leeds Audi.

I got my Avant in July 2006 and so far (touch wood) all it's needed is servicing.

Exactly the same here, no problems whatsoever, touch wood again.

That explains the 'Howdo' then. (I'm also from God's Own County.)
No problems for me either, other than a rattly badge on the steering wheel.
Although now I've said that, the DRC will probably fail on the way home tonight.

Welcome. Kudos on the Avant - any intentions to modify it, the exhaust perhaps?
