Welcome.

Great choice of car - is it a saloon, cabrio or (a "proper" RS) Avant?

B7 is the model number of the A4/S4/RS4 - you may also hear it referred to as 8E.

B5 = 8D

B6 and B7 both = 8E In effect the B7 is a facelifted B6 (there never was a B6 RS4).

Thank you for the answer .....

Unfotunately it is not a PROPER RS4, :D . The car is a 06 saloon with 12k
on the clock . Got it for 29k . I am still trying to work out what is standard and what are extras . One thing that did surprise me was the tubi ( i think spelling is right ) exhaust fitted and the standard exhaust was in the boot !

Hello mate and welcome!!

If you have a Tubi it's just a rear box which is why they managed to get the old OEM unit into the boot because unfortunately the standard unit is in one piece from the cats so to fit the Tubi system they cut off the rear back box and weld on the Tubi one! Not a problem if you like it? Does it have the oval pipes or quads?

By the way good choice in the saloon there alot faster!! :D watch em rant now.....lol :jump:

Hi Audiguy , light blue touch paper and stand well back , :D , i like it ...... the exhaust single has oval ends , shakes the house when it starts . The original has valves on but i don,t think the tubi has . Doe this make any difference ?

the valves were conected to the S button on the steering wheel so when you pressed the button the flaps opened and you got a bit more noise from it! the Tubi doesn't have any vavles as you say and so the only difference you will have when pressing the S button is the improved throttle response! Not a problem! Just don't forget to press the butten when you're really getting your foot down!! :wink:

Enjoy!!

I have the paperwork for the car . It talks about a symphony radio pack then he added a nav plus . He payed a lot of money for side airbags . Centre armrest and diff colour headlining and i think ally bits on the dash were free options . The car also has plastic on the front end and a tracker . An auto boot release , cooler box and auto recirculation ( what ever that is ) are also fitted .

Sure scott, but I'll need your e-mail address. Send me a PM rather than post it in open forum, otherwise you might get spammed...

Will do it tonight, or tomorrow latest

Welcome newbie!

Great choice - the saloon I mean. Much faster and better and bigger and better than the estate "look how fast I can transport a small wardrobe to my buy to let investment" version.

Now come you avants! Play ball!
