Calling all those on Vredestein SESSANTA’s.........

Somewhat alarmingly it appears two of my F1’s are already on the legal limit. They were fitted in Jan last year and have covered just shy of 7k so I’m a little disappointed but nevertheless they are what they are (doing mostly roundtown driving and being surrounded by roundabouts hasn’t helped them I’m sure….)

So I’m now deciding whether to get more of the same of try the Verdesteins. My previous experiences with Vredestein have been very good; offering loads of grip (especially in the wet) with good wear rates.

Can anyone confirm if this is still true of the Sessanta tyre fitted to the RS? The price on them is amazing – just £118 per corner even without shopping round

Don't know what Sessanta's you've got on yours, but mine cost upwards of £200 a corner!
Perhap's mine'll last 14000K .. .

My front F1's have worn harshly compared with the rears too, but I have done 10k plus in mine, so I am not that sad...

Was thinking of just swapping front to rear, for now?

I swapped front to rear about a month ago...

Without stating the obvious wear will depend on style & type of driving. 7k city miles will wear more than 10/11k motorway etc Unfortunately I think mine have suffered more than others because of this.

As for £200 per corner for the Sessanta's, they saw you coming!

hi ive been running the sessantas now for probs just short off 10k miles and they are nearly shot, without going outside and knealing in the slush id say ive got 500 - 1000 miles left on them.
my rs came with pirellis and they lasted about 9000 miles,so id say the sessantas are better wearers.
as for performance i cant fault the sessantas dry weather grip is equal to the pirellies and wet weather is unreal, and like pippyrips said you can get 4 tyres for under 500 quid its a no brainer really there half the price of mitchy pilots, vredestein will be getting my money in a month or so's time.

Hey pippyrips,

I need two front tyres soon, but find anyway that advertises them for £118. Found them for £169. Do you have a link?

Cheers,
Elliot

ta-dah!

Just ordered a set myself - at that price they are just too good to miss. My local fitter is going to hold on to them until mine are shot which won't be very long.

For info - after talking to Tyrexpress it seems these are selling like proverbial hotcakes so if you want a set you better be quick!

275/30's are £118.

I have been planning a set of these for the wife's A6 Avant but have noticed that 275s were typically cheaper than 255s. However, I'm sure I read on here that the Ultracs are wide for their stated size so want to stick with 255s on the A6. Have been keeping an eye out for a good deal and thought I was onto a good thing here.

Just checked with Tyre Express and they have stock still at £188.27 per tyre mail order. Local fitter will probably charged £40-60 cash in hand to fit them so £500 all in, bargain! Especially when you can be competitively quoted £1200 for equivalent Michelin PS2's

4 x 188.27 is not £500 it's £753
but your right it's def cheaper than PS2's
i got 4 PS2's fitted for £1000 at an audi dealer- which i thought wasn't too bad.
