Any more news/opinions on the new RS4?

Post by SimonH » Tue Nov 04, 2008 9:14 pm

Just wondering if there is anymore news etc, about the new RS4,whenever it lands?.Do you think it will have an uprated version of the new S4s supercharged 3.0 litre engine?.How many others are awaiting the new RS4 and RS5 ?.Regards, SIMON. :)

No RS4 in B8 line..... RS5 will replace the RS4. The RS5 is the next production car scheduled by Quattro GmbH (They only make 1 model at a time) There are many rumors as to what engine the RS5 will have, but nothing official. Audi will probably debuit the RS5 to the world during the first part of the new year

i think the next RS will be a couple of years away as it usually marks the end of a product lifecycle.

Check PH's for the latest on the TT-RS specs.

As expected it'll debut the return of a 5 pot albeit turbocharged and supercharged making 335hp.

Expected late next year: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/defau ... ryId=18900

As for the next RS4, I can't see that figuring for a while.

Personally, its got to be a supercharged V8 a la the MTM evolution, except not at the ludicrous premium.

Me and pippyrips managed to ascertain from QST at the recent Audi Day at Castle Coombe that there is only one such car in the UK, owned by none other than the son of Al Fayed...

He's the only one daft enough to pay that much for it....

I have my name down for an rs5 but I cant seeing it being here until 2010 at the earliest. Turbo V8 is being suggested. Personally I hope they stick with a v8 as for me that is one of the rs4s party peices. The TTRS looks too similar in the PH pics to a TTS, It needs some subtle RS4 esque flares somewhere.

I reckon they'll go down the turbo charged route for emissions reasons, unfortunately.

Interesting, I would have guessed a FST V6 S/C lump for the New RS4 (if any) as it would be going against what the new S4 stood for (Light, fast and cheap to run iirc), however a twin supercharged V8 would be nice LMAO

Well it wasn't running on the day Andy!

FWIW, it didn't even have the Tech Pack installed...must have cleaned himself out purchasing the SC'er...

I have my name down for the next RS4 although in the current climate not in a rush to get it albeit I'm still very happy with my current car, I can't imagine the next RS4 being as good.

New RS5 will not be turbo'd. Normally apspirated hi reving V8 I'm affraid guys! Not that its a bad thing just I know a lot of people were hoping as I was that they would go down the turbo route purely because of the tuning potential! But its not to be this time! I still think it will be a cracking car and anyone who loves the RS4 will adore the RS5 power delivery!!
Current car..... hmmmmm????

My best friend has the only RS4 MTM supercharged in Romania. Is a great car, I really hope it won't go pop. And, in my opinion, next RS4 will sure be V8, either NA but with and extra 30-40 hp over the B7 RS4 and lighter with a new S4 like quattro/sport dif OR with a supercharger for obvious CO emossions reason.

No, unfortunatelly no. He is kind of busy al the time, and when he has a little spare time he is next to his car polishing or something. He's car is truly the best looking RS4 I've ever seen, with Mov'it ceramics front and rear. In fact, you can see his car on the opening page from Mov'it site.
