The decals on the front callipers have faded to a pinkish finish compared to the original bright red. I assume this is common but could it be classed as a defect and therefore rectified under warranty?

Mine have too. Never thought of claiming - not terribly concerned but see your point - let's see what the consensus is.

Usually caused by using acid based wheel cleaner. Mine still look like new after 10k miles but I've only cleaned wheels with soapy water before.

Never used acid-based. Just Zymol and/or detergent.

That's interesting, can't understand why these would of faded then. I would take them back to Audi then in this case and ask them to comment.]

I use Meguire's Wheel Brightner diluted 4:1, and nearly 20k of heavy braking they're as new looking as the day I bought the thing.

Hmmm, i wonder if the excessive heating i must have put in to do the pads and discs in 10k miles has anything to do with it...?

I use a citrus based product called citriclean which is very similar to virisol. I am going to to my dealer on Thursday and I might ask them to comment.

I use P21s. Mine were faded when I purchased the car but gathered they fade on heat. Have a look at any car with Brembos on it and if its actually "enjoyed" they should be brownish also. If not the owner drives like a girl.
