Hi Guys,

Just wondered if anyone is running cards larger than 2gb or 4gb? I've been thinking of getting a couple of 8gb cards but seem to recall someone on here saying there were some issues?? be interested to know if there are any?

many thanks

Jim

4GB non SDHC cards only are the largest you can use. Plus the 512 tracks/directory limit.

ahh cheers Craig! Was hoping for a quicker response than that in honesty....... So it's either 4gb or 512 tracks! what a shame, well at least I can go for 2 x 4gb which will double what I have now.

thanks

Jim

I have to ask, I never thought the A4/RS4 ever came with digital TV, are you sure you have digital TV or was it retrofitted?

It's a retro fit mate, works really well and all controlled through the RNSE unit, with the right CAN conectors so it stays on when you turn the ignition off and only switches off when you pull the key out, same as Blue tooth etc.

the unit is made by CKO no grumbles at all...... TV inmotion works well too :bigblink:

Ah, so it's not genuine OEM TV, that makes sense.

well yes the car did come from factory with the OEM analogue TV tuner with only 4 channels, but I binned that and went for the Digi box!

I was under the impression that you had to use only 2 x 2GB memory cards so it would a total of 4GB, any thing larger and it would not work!

no, it's 2x 4GB non SDHC or whatever they are called, so you can have 8GB total and a max number of 1024 tracks/directories across the two cards.

SD cards ONLY, NOT SDHC

Sizes up to 4GB work fine.

512 objects per card maximum, objects = MP3 files + folders + M3U files

You can choose whether to show file names or track names.

If you want to control both the order of play and what appears on the DIS then you can use playlists.

I use 2 x 4GB cards with no problems.

Well, i say no problems however i don't seem to be able to see subfolders and the music contained within when using 4GB cards like i can with 2GB cards.

This causes problems when you have lots of tracks on the card, you scroll all the way through to the other end of the list to find the track you want, and when you are just about there it scrolls all the way back to the beginning as you change gear – it drives you mad!!!! I’d prefer to have folders like a-d etc to make it easier

These are the card I have though they have come down A LOT in price recently!!

Any ideas as to why this is and how to get around it

Ok so its 2 x 4GB, I had no problems looking at my music folders, now the ipod connection is a differant story, not impressed, a load of tosh IMO, the SD cards are a lot better laid out!

any chance someone with a 4bg card that shows subfolders can tell me how it is formatted? Right clicking, then choosing format will show - thanks
