Bluetooth Fitting - Scotland

Post by Iain_S4 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 7:48 pm

I would like to get bluetooth retrofitted to my car, preferably by craigyb that used to post on here and comes very highly recommended. However, don't have the time to go to Craig and its not economical for him to come north for just one job.

He would make the trip north if I could group together some other work. He did a trip up last year for 2 jobs in Edinburgh, 1 in Glasgow and 1 in Aberdeen. Anybody else interested?

Failing that, does anyody know the best place to buy the BT module and the part number for the latest version? Might have to resort to doing it myself......

Hmmm, often wondered the same. And I also need the digital TV tuner fitting too. Have you thought about just ordering the parts and taking them along to Autosonic?

I recently ordered and fitted bluetooth into my car myself. All in all, very easy to do as long as you don't have to left hands so to speak but you will need access to VAGCOM.

I got my wiring from Kufatec and the BT module and antenna from Vag-parts.

Give me a shout if you have any more questions.

They show up on EBay every now and again.

I've considered doing it myself (with significant help from a skilled friend) and have read the step by step thread that Andyuk911 posted on here. Skilled friend is also a friend of Golich who I think has VAGCOM. However, if I can get craig to do it I think it would be quicker and much more straightforward.....between work and a 4 week old baby I'm struggling to find the time.

Have been toying with fitting bluetooth for a while - left work tonight a little early thinking all was ok and then was plauged with calls on the way home because of problems on the rig.......so finally need to bite the bullet and get it done.

Chris - if you are interested in Bluetooth and digital TV, then I think between us we are already doing quite well towards getting Craig to come north. I have no real experience of Autosonic except trying to get them to repair the buthchered wiring loom behind the head unit in my S4. Without recommendations I'm reluctant to let them loose on the RS.

Is this the correct part http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info ... A4-B7.html that I need to order along with the BT module from VAGPARTS?

Thank you
Iain

Iain, I'd be interested if you got Craig to come up to the N. E. Scotland. Been past his area a few times but never had the time to pop in.

Cheers

I used them years ago when they were on Holburn Street. Seemed decent enough back then, and certainly better than my experiences with checkpoint.

If we can get him up that's a much better option. Just leave your keys with me ;)

Iain,

I'm interested, however I'd like to see a cost before committing to it.

Should I be conerned about potential for damage to the interior trim or introducing rattles or anything like that?

Had an e-mail from Craig last night. It would be at a weekend and he is free the next 2 weekends

27/28 September
4/5 October

Not sure why later weekends are not available. Prices I assume would be as per his website tclsatnav.com and for 4 installs he was suggesting £25 each to cover his expenses. Hopefully 5 means £20ea.

27/28 September is preferable for Craig but I'm away at a wedding. However, the wedding is in Edinburgh and it might still work in.

For those of you that are interested, can you please PM me with your e-mail address which will probably be an easier way for us all to communicate and agree arrangements.

I can vouch for the quality of Craig's work, I was one of the RS4 owners he came to Scotland for last year. He installed RNSE and a bluetooth phone module, the quality of fitting is superb and I have had no issues or problems since it was installed approx a year ago.
