500 bhp out of an RS4 motor naturally aspirated?

This video showcases an R8 racecar that Audi will supposedly sell. It mentions making the car rear wheel drive and that the car has 500 hp...would love to know what they did to the motor.

My guess is you will have to move to a flat plain crankshaft to get more power out of it.

Ferrari's F430 4.3 V8 produces ~490hp @ 8500 rpm and has 465 Nm of torque. Bore x stroke = 92mm x 81mm

In Audi's case the 4.2 litre V8 should theoretically develop ~480hp if Audi start using a flat plain crankshaft although the stroke is longer at 92.8mm. The B7's pistons are moving faster than a F1 cars' pistons at 8250rpm so there is no way rpm can be raised much.

Curious then as to why the Audi develops less torque than the F430?

Bar redesigning the whole engine in order to increase the bore, you are then left with inlet/outlet improvements, better valve-lift to further increase power towards 500hp.

The F430 Scuderia makes 503hp.

I guess the DTM cars use a flat plain crank?

The same debate is raging regards the RS5 powerplant.
