Yeah...and before you know it it'll be on the forecourt for £45K.
Car dealers.
The estate agents of the motoring world...

Thats not too bad. Mileage is above the norm, its working out at 17k a year.

I actually think that is ok - thought it would be less. Was that as a trade-in?

There are at least 2 B7's on PH of similar age (07) with similar mileage for > £45K.
No way does a dealer need to be making £7.5K on a 1 year old car...
IMHO.
That said, we're in a buyers market....

£7.5 K margin on an RS4 is about average for my local dealer, they even stupidly wrote two prices on the piece of paper they gave me as trade in for mine at one stage, the one they were prepared to offer and one £2.5K over the original which was book price!

Just 'cos they're up at this price doesn't mean that's what they'll get!
5-10% off that will be more realisitic I reckon.
So I don't think the offer you got was that bad, TBH.

Offered me 40k for mine 2 weeks ago (Newbury Audi) against an A5 px. Similair spec slightly less miles. I think thats the key what are you trading it against and if not expect to be hit as they are tough to shift at present I would have thought? IMO

A few on the audi wesite
8.07 14k £41500
7.07 22k £44000
6.07 18k £39000
3.07 20k £43000
Average of that lot £41875.
Id say 37.5k is about on the money. If i were to bid on any of the above id go in asking atleast 10% off and work from there and maybe meet in the middle assuming I had no pex.

I dont think thats a bad price for a dealer. They have big overheads and for a 37.5k investment they need to make about 5-7.5k. If there was only 1k profit in it for them they would be selling budget motors.

Everything over 2.0 Litre is dropping like a stone and the retail market has really slowed down with the R word becoming a reality. With September number plate change increasing p/x's and the notoriously bad 4th quarter to come dealers do not want to be carrying heavy stock.
Best sit it out if you can but it is all relative and there is also an opportunity to upgrade into something tasty because the gap has closed. Who thought an 06 plate AM V8 would be in the £40k's or a DB9 in the £60ks or 997TT in the £70ks.
I'm looking at those options as the price to upgrade is definitely less than 12 months ago.
I may go the whole hog and get a F430 !!!

Prices are obviously relative, so the cost to 'upgrade' will be the same high number due to the higher depreciation on your own car, unless your upgrading to from a Fiesta to a F430?

Just had an insurance repair report back on mine and the retail price on an 07/'06 Avant with 33k on the clock was £40K and trade £35K

The point I was trying to make is that the higher big end stuff is even more severly effected so the price to upgrade to a 997TT or F430 is less even though my humble RS4 fiesta lookalike has dropped in value.
