Noise around 40mph

Afternoon All,

Just wondered if anyone was experencing a low pitch noise around 40mph, normally when slowing. This noise is only there just above and below 40, the Audi centre told me it was the gearbox, that's just been changed but now the sound is back!

I get it too... I just thought it was a bit of 'transmission train whine'... not normally something to worry about? Defo not enough to require a gearbox change

I've also got that noise. I took an Audi Tech. out for a spin soon after noticing it who gave been some technobabble answer which in short meant they all do it and its completey normal (something to do with the drivetrain.)

Having said that mine happens at around 2.5k revs as opposed to a a fixed 40mph.

I heard recently of an RS4 that had it's gearbox replaced after just 2k miles and it had nothing to do with the owners driving style

Get a non resonating Milltek then the car makes all sorts of noises at low revs!!! Drowns out all other annoying noises!
