RS4 Recall Questions??

I know we've a few topics around single recall notices/issues, but i'm looking for a conclusive list/detail of the ones over the last say 12mths??

AFAIK, i've had no recall work carried out or updates applied to my car which is a May 07 Saloon. Car is booked in Tues/Wed for a check on the DRC as i think it's failed for a 2nd time  & i have raised the point of updates but have been told only a software update is pending.

Reading the other topics i see a fuel sensor & under bonnet wiring issue but the dealer could see no detail about these.

I'd like to be armed with the correct detail as to what needs doing, although the dealer concerned is very RS savvy.

Thanks in advance.

Rob @ Camberley Audi confirmed the recalls are naturally specific to chassis ranges so it appears my car is only in need of the software update  .

Fingers crossed the bad DRC fairy has not cast a spell on my car again & the crashing/knocking on rebound etc. is something less sinister.

the fuel sensor recall is for all fsi engines so your dealer should be aware of this.
it only popped up last week i think.

Shocks & DRC are in tip top condition, phew :D

So just the Software update recall being carried out (no others applicable to my car) & an annyoing intermittent RNS-E freezing issue which Camberley Audi have diagnosed with the replacement part being delivered & fitted tomorrow.

So what was causing the banging/knocking?

Don't know but my guess is i'm linking 2 things that are not related.

Last time my DRC failed i noticed it crashing over slow speed bumps on a particular road, whilst at the same time the cars general handling was getting worse over a fairly short timeframe. I think that although the cars handling is spot on this time & i can't fault it, i've recently noticed the same feeling/noise when going over these same low speed bumps so i made the connection that perhaps the DRC is failing again.

Very happy it's not & looking forward to my car coming back tomorrow.

Originally my car had leaking shocks, but no knocking.

The shocks were replaced, and they still have no leaks, but they are now knocking pretty bad on rebound. If you hit a speed bump at an angle so that one wheel drops off the bump before the other, the knock if loud. On a rough road, it was harder to hear, but it was still there.

Well mine has gone back in for knocking. The tech has said it is Pressure related to the DRC, and although they are not leaking, it needs replacing. I'll post the report when I get it back.

Defo let us know. Mine has been fully checked & has no leaks, the pressure is spot on & the shocks have no visible signs of an issue. The dealer has checked evey part possible so i think in my case it's my over eager diagnosis, however if the DRC was not so problamatic across the RS4/6 range i'd not be that cautious. Good luck with yours.
