It's the first car I've ever owned that still makes me smile every time I drive it after owning it for nearly two years. Normmaly with me that period is only six months at most.

It seems, but it isnt IMO. I know it loses a good bit of power through the drivetrain but its just so smooth which is why it might feel slower than a cossie. I hope i have the same experiences Dave, i'd love to open my garage door in 25 years and see my B7 RS4 there. I wonder what the fuel prices will be like then

Been thinking of it, keep it another 5 years buy it off the company and turn it into a tarmac rally car after stripping it of 200-300kg, then youll have a smile on your face.

Everytime I pass 4000 rpm and hear that silky smooth V8 growl (even with stock exhausts), a silly grin appears on my face and my right foot gets really heavy.

you bastids. now I'm thinking of nipping out for a lunchtime drive!

That's the difference between a turbo-charged and an NA engine - the turbo engine gives a kick in the back when the turbo comes on boost, which makes it feel like there's "more under the hood" than an equally powerful NA engine.

As said above turbo cars always feel quick and it is always a bit dissapointing comming from a turbo car to a normally aspirated. i drove a new cooper s the other day and absolutley loved it. It felt quick but was obviously a country mile away in performance to the rs4 but i kid you not when 2 weeks later im actually considering getting one and letting the rs4 go.
Its starting to get to me the constant talk of petrol prices c02, road tax and not being able to leave it anywhere. I could have as much as a laugh in a copper s and spend 18k on the caterham accademy car and be grinning my socks off.
Love the rs4 and fast cars but on uk roads if the current c02, tax, and petrol price trend continue they will soon become extinct.
Next year we will have a new batch of low c02 performance cars, porsche have already lowered the 911s. The only thing that will save the rs4 is low numbers.

I luv mine! I think the fact there's very little else like it will make it very hard to replace and I can see myself keeping it for longer than my usual two to three years.

Traded in a 911 Carrera S (997) for it and can honestly say I don't miss the Porker at all from a driving point of view - I find the RS4 just as much fun. The music system's better too ...

I just googled audi RS4 and found this thread, i've been trying to blank out any trace of RS4's in the past 10 months. My one was stolen at gunpoint from my apartment last summer in an armed robbery...the .insurance company still havent paid out either. Nightmare !!

For me the Audi RS4 B7 is a classic car, a modern classic and i miss it so bad it still hurts. The sound alone was enough to give you a semi, nevermind the awesome power and performance which was mind boggling to me as a 25 year old getting into this. I dont regret buying it though, i have lots of good memories of standing my ground with porsches, bentleys, amg's, m3's and my daily midnight spins =D a truely addictive car, an addiction that cleaned me out and im actually still paying for it :x

get a peep hole on your front door !

Horrendous.

Suggest you contact the insurance ombudsmen as that delay is beyond 'reasonable'....unless there are some serious behind the scene factors here of course.
