Can anyone suggest any good insurance companies I can try for my RS4???
Have been with Elephant for a number of years and they have always proved pretty competitive, however they hiked my premium by 600 quid for my renewal. They want £1650!!!!!!..... Parked on driveway in London, 31 yrs old with 3 points.
Have managed to get it down to £1080 with Privilege but given insurance companies seem to take a dislike to certain cars thought it worth asking if anyone has had particularly competitive quotes for theirs??
Thanks

ia agree tha comparison sites were not much use for this type of model of car. tend to be good for mondea etc and any quotes came out way over the top so stuck with Direct Line who seem to be always very competive on price any way with me. I'm about £700 wrong end of 30 1 extra driver, full ncd but 6 points not garaged but live in the cuds etc though. Does that sound good? not sure know
I think a grand in London at your age is about right if im honest.
The most I ever paid was 3k a year for a Cossie when i was 23 !! jesus I didnt earn much more than that a year back then !! scarey days.

Personally I'm with Bell, but being 21 my quotes are in excess of £4k, every ammendment I make to excess, car, extras etc really has an impact of a few hundred quid so obviously you pick up on things more than just a tenner here and there but in doing so, I've noticed something. Try this....
Go onto bell.co.uk and click get a quote, fill it in as per usual but when you get to the final quote stage where you can change the policy type etc. Notice at the top it gives two figures, the large total cost for the insurance and in small print the premium cost alone without extras.
Now... If you're on a high performance car that gives a four figure premium which you are, then this should fingers crossed help. Select "flexibell" instead of the normal bell and you'll notice both of the figures drop; the insurance premium falls aswell as the total cost although it takes all the extras out.
What I am getting at is flexibell allows you to pick and choose the extras you want to include like third party on other cars, legal cover etc. I'm not saying dont bother with them but even if I ticked ALL the boxes and added every possible extra to make it up to the equivalent standard of a normal bell policy, it was still cheaper total because the insurance "premium" in small print was lower saving me a few hundred squid.
Sounds confusing but when you have the site infront of you you'll understand. It saved me a lot but bearing in mind I'm dealing with a premium of triple yours so it may not have the same effect but should soften the blow a little.
I mention this because I believe Elephant is part of admiral just like Bell is so its worth a try because my quote through admiral was from memory about 12 grand although Bell was about 4.5 grand, underwritten by the same people.

Jodes - I was with Privilege and switched to elephant a number of years ago. Now I'm looking to switch to someone else. I'm 38, 3 points and paying similar amount - maybe I should go back to Privilege!

Although, I was always monitoring the tires for >2mm diff between them, to supposedly stop the transfer box blowing on me ... thanks god Audi build better quality cars!

A combination of landing myself a good sales job and still living with my dad because he's recovering from being ill and I'd feel a bit guilty leaving him alone at home so no, unfortunately not won the lottery.Marcus-RS4 wrote:Tilly wrote: my quote through admiral was from memory about 12 grand although Bell was about 4.5 grand, underwritten by the same people.![]()

So much so that although its affordable I cant merit blowing so much on the RS that its going on Tuesday and I'm going to tone it down a bit and save up for when I do move out in a year or so, possibly an S3 but we'll see! I want a used car to save some dollar and if they made a DSG S3 then it'd deffo be the car for me but only being manual I'm considering the options.
