Audi home-link?

Post by sonny » Sat May 17, 2008 8:09 pm

What does the Audi homelink (automatic garage door)button look like and where does it get placed if you was to have it fitted into a RS4 saloon?

As I'm thinking about having it retro fitted at a dealers, I know that the module gets fitted behind the front bumper, but was curious as to where the button goes, I'm guessing it goes on the dash next to the Hazard warning button?....no?

I've got it fitted on my Cabriolet and it's in the panel with the front roof lights at the top of the windscreen, I don't know if it's in a different position in a saloon though - sorry. :-(

I have it - on the saloon/avant it is mounted on the drivers sun visor. Works well for me.

Mine's in the driver's sun visor too, although I never use it, because the car doesn't have a home to link to.:(

On the saloon / Avant as said it is on the passenger sun visor. I was thinking of having it retrofitted too as I have a remote operated electric garage door, however the sun visor is about £100 IIRC and the module behind the bumper £4-500 plus installation. Not a cheap retrofit but if you have the money to do it....

I think it's brilliant. I couldn't get it to work when I first got the car but after getting an upgrade kit from the makers of the garage door (a new circuit board) then it worked just fine.

It's great to just open the door as I arrive especially if it's raining.

Just one thing, does the garage door get programmed to the device, or does the device get programmed to the Door?

What was the overall cost Simon as I was given a price that made it prohibitively expensive given its worth?
