Hi Folks,

We've been trying for a while to get an RS4 into our country and finally found a decent unit with low mileage in UK. Upon inspection, the car has some rather strange feature.

1) Round steering wheel
2) no sunroof

Are these options? I had the foresight to take down the VIN number, can anybody help to decipher and confirm if this is an authentic RS4 and not a unti converted from an A4?

VIN: WUAZZZ8EX6N901764

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks! :D

Is it an MFSW? In the UK RS4s came with an MFSW if you ordered one of the phone options - in the US the RS4 steering wheel was not available.

The sunroof was an option in the UK, and a delete option in the US.

That looks like a genuine VIN for an early (2006 model) RS4 to me. It's not a US car because of the ZZZ. The key part is the UA (means assembled by quattro gmbh and not by Audi).

It's consistent with an RS4 VIN. The N means it was made in Neckarsulm which is where all the RS4s originate and the relatively low VIN is in line with production volumes of RS4s.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the feedback. We're trying to get the car into Malaysia.

The steering wheel is the MFSW ala A4 with the wedge shaped airbag module.

Hopefully we'd manage to get this in. This is tough going for a country that does not encourage anything above 2.5l and then has the cheek to sell the RS4 at RM 850k (~GBP 132k!).

Good to know that this is the real thing. We're pretty much going ahead with the idea. Keeping my fingers crossed all the way! :D

Next question would be, how difficult would it be to change from the multi-fucntion steering wheel to the flat bottomed steering? What kind of functionality would I lose?

Grown pretty fond of the steering wheel in my MKV GTI, if I could, I'd like to get the same for the RS4 as well.
