I thought they scanned yer ecu - thingy and sent data to REVO headquarters and software specific to your car was sent back and then loaded, lets face it i have milltek DPs/100 cell cats/ and cat back...it aint going run the same way..is it?
Surely 1 program in the this instance , does not "fit all". ??????

Syko - the map you'll get will be a generic one that won't take account of your mods.
Also - I believe that if they do it via the ODB port then Audi will know its been mapped.

Rob, you're right on the first part, that will be a generic program. However REVO always do OBD II flash and have an access counter backclick feature to so that Audi cannot see that the port has been accessed for remapping purposes.
Sykotoy, given your mods find a tuner with a rolling road and someone who can alter table parameters on your remap whilst on r/r to maximise your gains.

You could email Revo and ask their advice

Will they customise your map with the mods you have ? Are you using the select switch feature .?? careful

Well it seems the software is put on on the following way.
Revo have RS4 software for each version of the Audisoftware. once they establish the cars current verion , they load the matching Revo software
Iguess you could call this the initial Base software, this software is adjustable - for things like fuel delivery / thrtle response / air / other stuff.
The software is then tuned/road tested/tuned - till it meets optimun setting for your car / and your driving style.
There is a switch system available - u could have 2 settings 98 / 100 ron - im thinking just the 1 @ 98 is fine
was 2700 Peak now doing @ 2200 aussie bucks. your thoughts molar,

Price is competitve for sure. Ask whether the rolling road tuning is included in the intial price. Also enquire whether the revo files can be written over ? ie can you overwrite with another remap from a different company ?
Also if audi reflash the ecu, will revo reflash your car for no fee?
You defintiely would need a custom tune with the full miltek, cat back, 100 cell cats on your beast.
I'm still interested in DnA custom tune from john. Looking into a guy in melbourne from
www.obdtuning.com.au to reflash for me with custom map from john.
Molar...

I'm no tuning expert, but:
- How do you do a rolling road custom map when the person doing the customisation is on the other side of the world?
- I understand that the Motronic has adaptation and therefore there is little point in ultra-fine tuning?
The question I would ask is "Do you have a map for a B7 RS4 with a full Milltek system with 100 cell cats?"
The moto I've always stood by is "You pay your money, and you take your chance".

Hopefully the person doing the customisation would have theaccess rights / ability to alter the remap parameters to suit the car whilst on the rolling road. I don't suppose it matter if you are on the other side of the world or 5 miles down the road from the company who created the remap in that respect.

I was commenting based on the above statements from Molar:
- Ask whether the rolling road tuning is included in the intial price.
- Looking into a guy in melbourne to reflash for me with custom map from john (Being someone in the UK).

I presume the guy@revo in Sydney would have a map specific for the changes in air flow with the less restrictive miltek and also have the ability to data log full acceleration, partial acceleration through the all load points and then examine the results, either apply some correction or send files to headoffice in UK@REVO>
Me personally I am looking at a custom map from John@DnA in the UK, which optimises torque managment by not allowing 100% throttle body opening in gears 1,2,3. approx 85-87% is optimal for the rs4, lifting the rev limit to 8400 and enabling the flaps to remain open in s mode through all load points and lifting the speed limit to 300 km/hr.
He will plan to send it over to OZ and I'll get a tuner from Melbourne to flash my car through the OBD2 port.
CHeers Guys..
