Ever since I picked my car up from new last year I have struggled with the clutch, it a mixture of the revs hovering around 2000 rpm and the fact that the clutch seems to be like an on off switch in that its either in or out and no in between. I went out today and if you are not megaq smooth you kangaroo up the road like delboy in his reliant robin. Any one experience the same?

I know what you mean, but that is down to clutch control

Neither I nor my wife have had any problems with kangaroo starts in our RS4, reckon your problem is down to technique.

I found this for the first week or so aftrer getting the car but echoing the comments above, its down to control. No problems since i got used to the car.

When "Sport" mode is engaged, the throttle is super sensitive.

Combined with a lousy road surface this doesn't help as you can't modulate the pressure on the throttle and clutch fast enough to avoid kangarooing sometimes...

Yes, same kind of experience but in the end, it is all down to control. For me, it's not a problem if you are flying through the gears, just in traffic. I've actually taken time on a deserted stretch to practice clutch/throttle control and it helped. As I practiced, I found watching the tach between shifts (not recommended in traffic!) somehow got me smoother. The Milltek also helps!

You can help matters by using a soft trainer shoe for "All" the RS4 driving, it makes a huge difference.

Thanks for the responses and although I agree to some extent i still feel that the bite point on the clutch is too small and too high. I would be happier to lower the pedals and have a more progressive bite point, as I said above on my car its either in or out. This is also the first performance car I have owned where the revs hang when you lift off the throttle. I also find the throttle take up a bit sloppy, again previous cars were sharper, all this adds up to being a bit erratic from a driving point of view, im fully able to drive it smoothly when required. I the throttle fly by wire or cable as it feels cable to me. Not a big thing but I want to gauge if it is faulty.

I would let another RS4 owner have a go and see if you have a problem, high bite point does not sound right to me, this used to mean the clutch was US.

What engine software are you running?
