Milltek Fitment Issues

Post by mixja » Thu Jan 17, 2008 7:49 am

I had the 200cpi Milltek down pipes and resonated non-valved catback system installed just before XMAS.

Noticed that the right tip was not quite centred in the rear panel recess, and intended to drop the car in to the exhaust shop after the holidays.

During the holiday period, the right tip gradually moved across to within probably 5mm of the recess :?

Took it back to the exhaust shop, they adjusted it back but advised they can't centre the right tip perfectly (left tip is fine).

Just wondering if anybody else has seen this issue - Milltek quality and fitment is supposed to be top notch :x

Its only metal, cant they bend it 5mm? Take it off pop it in a vice, quick tug, then one on the pipe and there you go. Mind you thats using common sense isnt it? Far easier to say "sorry mate it cant be done".

The problem is that the right tip hangar is as far to the right as possible without coming off the rubber gromit. The bracket that holds the gromit is adjustable but is also as far to the right as possible.

I guess they could slot the bracket more so the gromit can be moved further to the right...

no problems at all with mine yesterday. I held the tips in line while the fitter tightened everything up and bobs your uncle....

Hope you get it sorted, there's nothing like a wonky exhaust, I had some custom made once for my BMW, and i noticed it was out by a few mil, it peed me off, and quite rightly so too!

As said above surly it can be bent into place...or maybe your car is bent.....Joking!
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
