New member! sport button options..
Looking at purchasing an RS4 saloon or convertible, having driven a saloon today for the first time, wow! what a lovely car, it had the bucket seats with the 'sport' mode on the steering wheel, i tried this whilst on the test drive and the sound is utterly addictive but my wife would like the 'recaro seats', is the sport button still an option with these, i know it wont 'pump up' the seats but i just want the noise! the sales guy said that on the convertible it was a dash mounted switch, is he correct? or is it wheel mounted on the convertible and saloon, any help appreciated, cheers guys[/i]
RE: New member! sport button options..
recaros do not delete the button on wheel but as you said it does not operate the bolsters; cab has different seats so they can fold to let leg amputee victims into the back so I believe the seat up is different (not sure why)
Just need someone with a convertible and recaros now and all will be revealed, cheers. are they that much smaller in the back than the saloon? the only person in the back will be my 2 1/2 yr old daughter which is the other reason to go for the recaros especially in the convertible as i believe the buckets are on manual adj, anyone with children use a convertible as a daily drive?? all help appreciated

The s button remained on the steering on my friends cab. If you like the noise you will be disconnecting the exhaust valves before long so don't worry about it!
1) Sport button: The sport button is on the flat bottomed style steering wheel, exactly the same as the saloon. The dasboard is quite different from the Cab to the saloon - you need to see it to see the difference but primarily the cab has 3 round centre air deflectors rather than two oblong shape as in the saloon.
2) Seats: I opted for the recaro seats over the buckets only because you can move the backs to enable to get people in and out of the back, it would be quite a flaf to do that with the buckets - they do look nice though. The recaro seats are also different from the Cab to the saloon. The headrests are as the rear seats - seperate - in the saloon they appear to be more intergrated with the back of the seat. I think this is so when the hood is down the headrests look the same from front to rear.
Hope that helps.

Convertible looks stunning by the way...have you driven a saloon aswell, i have come from a 996turbo to a mkv golf gti which i have to say has been a fantastic car it has that 'fun' factor IMO, the rs4 saloon has that same feel but more power and noise!!! does the conv.feel the same, i accept it will feel a bit different as it has no roof! but is it noticably so
The Cab is a tad slower than the saloon due to the extra weight but to be honest, it doesn't bother me - I wanted a decent 4 seater cabrilolet, I saw the rest and went for the best, in my opinion of course
There are obviously faster cabs out there but how much faster do you want to go than an RS4 on the UK roads. This ticked all the boxes for me, I enjoy the handling - I don't need to have the arse hanging out when going round a corner to impress others on the way to work in the morings so that chopped out all the rear wheel drives for a start
The previous car I had was a modified TT Roadster and I wanted a bigger version of it - hence the RS4 Cab, just wasn't interested in the saloon.
