remaps - yet again

Post by nick555 » Mon Nov 19, 2007 11:55 pm

thought it might be an idea as quite a few on here seem to be considering having their cars mapped that we could maybe get a deal with one of the providers and get some sort of deal for a block booking
well aware of the group buy section but as i,m not really an expert thought posting in here first might gauge interest and maybe save me and any others a bit of hard earned
hope i,m not breaking any rules with this post

I had revo on my TT many years ago now... I found it to be great and I loved the 'switchability' of it... heard mixed things since :o/

BTW, remaps are detectable at Audi.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Remaps being all of a sudden "Detectable" @ Audi, which they aint.

You had a remap before it went back did you not?
Did you remove prior to the dealer taking it back or did they know about it.

I'm afraid you're wrong about that.

On what factual basis do you claim this isn't true T-urbo and AudiJohn?

Similar question crossed my mind, probably due to the fact that not too long ago, you claimed you had had the car remapped by MRC, had the cats or precats removed and few other things changed, cant be bothered to trawl throught the threads again..... Audi wont see remap unless they hunting, and the only reason they will do that is if the engine detonates or the gearbox falls over.... At this point they plug the car into VAGCOM, and Audi AG read the files that dealership cant access. Seems a little strange that you have become slightly defensive even though you have returned the car............

Like you said Simon, they won't find it unless they are hunting, but they can.

Did the dealer say anything to you when yours went back for major repair?

Never did fit the cat-delete, they are on classified right now, brand new and unused, interested? Surely its the last thing on your car to be done.

Wires are crossed i think.

How did that pan out? was asking what the dealer had to say since your car was chipped, as you said they were detectable i assume either they spotted yours or you had it removed prior to them taking it back and you know they can detect remaps from another source.

I thought it had been established that all maps are detectable should someone be looking for them, even a switched revo code can be detected using a hex reader, even if you have had the 2 hour 'try before you buy' option it leaves latent code in the ecu... all ecu's can be flashed back to standard, I did with my TT as it was ultimately traded in....
