How to turn of the Tyre pressure monitor

Post by brollan1 » Mon Nov 19, 2007 2:57 pm

Hi,

I do not have any pressure sensors fitted to my winter wheels and I want to turn of the tyre pressure monitor.

How can I do that?

I think you can do it via the coding on one of the channels. Central conv I think.

Hi all

Just going to bump this as I could really do with an answer to this one. I live in Sweden and my winter wheels don't have the gubbins so I constantly have the yellow warning symbol on the DIS. VAG-COM reports that the sensors cannot be reached at all - totally logically of course. I just want to turn the monitoring off (as per the previous guy) and would like to re-enable when I put my standard 19s on in May.......

Looked in VAG-COM under channel 65 (Tyre Pressure Monitor) but found no obvious way to disable TPM.

Also tried Tarton Rob's idea but there are no obvious signs of the necessary code in Central Conv either.

Anyone got any thoughts on this one?

Cheers

I have definately seen it in one of the channels. Make sure you have the most upto-date ladel file that will include the latest coding options.

Go to Channel 65 ( Tyre Pressure Monitor) then Coding.
Scroll over the highlighted code and it will give a list of options. On and Off is not one of them BUT you can change the coding to Emergency Tyres which may well turn the Sensors off.
