RS4 makes you drive like an idiot?

With the exception of a fortunate few in Europe the rest of us are limited to 60mph. Exceeding this limited for extended periods of time is bound to cost a lot of money (no points sytems in RSA - only fines).
I therefore find myself travelling to work and entering the slow lane at 40mph, spot the gap (mostly a very narrow one) and then in the red through the gears to +/-110mph at which time the above is repeated. This means I average about 60 and stay in the vacinity of the same cars all the time. This action which has only be come part of me since the RS4 attracts significant head shaking from motorists and sometime a few thumbs up as well.
I recently lent the wheels to my brother who later explained he just could not help himself from doing the same thing as the accleration from 40 is phenomanal and a feeling one just can't get enough of.
Having never driven this way before I blame my behaviour on the car. I would feel better if there I knew I was not alone.

Drive everywhere in first and second, you still get the acceleration feeling without breaking the speed limit.

IMO there is no need to drive like an idiot, knowing that you have the power, there's nothing to proof!
However like said above, its all about the torque, hmmm however I did buy a Road Angel plus yesterday hehe

I can safely mine made me drive pretty much like an idiot.....but only 'SPEED' wise
The number of times it got pushed to 140/150 (kph or course) because it was so easy in my short ownership of 3 months was reason enough to sell it!!

It can lead you a stray IF you let it. Si9t back and let the others come up and admire it and just let them "Emagine" how quick it is.
I find mine is so quick it can put me in trouble coming upto less powerful cars, they pull out and then gasp, as i'm in there mirrors.

How did the RS4 fair against the Scoobies!?!?! I know they are quick once tuned up to 100mph ish!!
Had an Evo 8 with circ 330 bhp for a few days last week; that mad me drive like I had never driven a fast car before, again, quick up to the ton but after that the RS4 would have killed it!!!

Well, it wasn't a balls-out affair, but in the few chances we got to open it up it was pretty evenly matched. Hard to really tell when you are on Welsh mountain roads, in the wet!!
A lot of comments from the Scooby guys of "<beep> that thing has some poke" and "what an awesome noise that thing makes"
Great day though, and NOT what I was expecting from the scooby guys. Really nice group.

My old STI was running about 380/380. Hard to say which is quicker as the RS is so refined you lose some of the sense of speed and as a result feels slower than it actually is. My STI was/is quicker until 70ish then the RS wins but the STI was far from standard.

Oh come on guys - the Rs4 (ive done 70,000 mile since it was new) allows you to drive very fast, yet very safely.
Its no problem to regularly be doing 130-140mph on a motorway, and over 100mph on an 'A' road...
Have you ever tried geting in an ordinary car - never try this - you will kill yourself.
Respect that you are in a very capable car, moreover get some serious training if you want to find the 'envolope' of the vehicle you are driving.
There are very few 'safer' cars than an RS4, but treat it with respect - if it bites, it WILL kill you, but with nearly 220,000 mile sin RS4's (B5 and B7) it it the safest car I have ever driven - lets hope the R8 is the same.
