I know it's early days but I have put a deposit down for the next RS4 and understand I am first in line with my local dealer:

What do you think the engine will be, will they stick with V8 or look @ V10?

judging by Recent storys from Audi personel in the press it looks like th engine could be a turbo'd V6 again.

Interesting times along with the pressures of Co2 emissions and such engines will get smaller. Prhaps they will just put the B5 engine in again;)

Never. They'll give it more than that. I would circa 400 would make sense.

New RS4... They just stopped production of the old RS4. It's going to be a few years yet before they bring out a new model. They may also skip the B8 model, they did with the B6.

Very good points.

If they do go ahead, then I would have thought they'd use a V10...would be rude to go backwards or stick with the V8!

4.2 V8 FSI with twin turbos and circa 480-500 would be my guess basing on what they have given the RS6. and the power leap on previous RS releases.

I think so too and in fact, the Audi marketing guy at Sydney motor show recently did say the next RS4 will have turbo and very likely V8 twin turbo....that would be nice!

There's rumours that the RS5 will have the Gallardo V10 but making 500-520HP - the B9 RS4 (there won't be a B8 RS4) will probably get the same powerplant...

I not so sure they will turbocharge the 4.2,i worked in germany last year and met an audi development driver who also was restoring a classic aircraft for the owner of the audi development company hence how i met him,he had allready driven/tested the rs4 in turbo form but said it would never be built because the cost was too high and it would push the price of the car out of its sector,but hey that was a year ago,i would guess it will get the gallardo engine it makes sense unfortunatly

Can't - have 3 children and even though we have a people carrier, i'd prefer to take my car not enough room in the back of a coupe.

dont shoot me down but any word if Audi intends to put up an RS spec tdi in say-A8 4.2tdi form!!

id buy one!
