Do the new coil-packs deliver any kind of increased reliability/robustness?

Agree, if faulty, it is a warranty issue. I'd hate to think how much it costs to replace all 8!

My dealer changed two of my coilpacks with the part number 07K 905 715D.
The one that I have on the car is 07K 905 715B. I enquire them about this and Audi germany says that 07K 905 715D is the latest for the coilpack.
