pre delivery
pre delivery
picking my new saloon up on saturday, read various threads with info about what to have done prior delivery ie rs4 logo on satnav but was bit confused about wjether was 'double locking' or was it 'double bleep' on locking with remote. appreciate if someone could clarify
RE: pre delivery
There no such thing as double locked (i.e. extra secure) - the overlapped discussions are likely to be -
1.) Beep on locking - it's silent by default, but some like a little chirp
2.) Double press on key to open passenger doors & tailgate - security feature which again tends to be active by default
3.) Doors auto-locking as you pull away - not sure if you can (or would want) to disable this one...
Good luck!

RE: pre delivery
You can disable the auto-lock. I asked my dealer to disable the double-press security feature and they went ahead and disabled auto-lock as well (not sure if it's tied into the same setting or if they are just stupid). Didn't notice until I drove away.
RE: pre delivery
thanks for your help guys
RE: pre delivery
Personally "Auto Lock" is great as one can jump in your car once you pull off the drive. I have it enabled.
RE: pre delivery
just a word of warning you can open the boot only to put in your shopping whatever you do don't then drop it in with your keys and shut the boot!!! Sometimes it pays to carry the plastic key

Don't forget to check the oil. I went to see mine a few days before I collected it and it was nearly empty.
