Digital TV tuner upgrade??

Post by rAudiguy » Mon Sep 24, 2007 7:12 pm

Sorry if this has come up before but does anyone know if you can upgrade the Sat Nav to have digital free view TV? I spend a fair bit of time waiting around in the car and it would nice to stick on sky sports news in the car park like I did in my E46 M3. obviously you can have it from scratch but my car was built.

cheers

Jim

I looked into this and there are a few companys that can do the upgrade, think its about £600. I have mislaid the details but they specialised in audi audio and security and were london based.
Sorry i cant be of anymore help.

I would be interested too to upgrade for the digital tuner if available. The analog reception here is not great especially while the car is moving (I have the tv-in-motion hack so my kids can't be kept entertained sometimes on a long drive). If anyone have done the change, please share some info. Thanks.

I spoke to CraigyB about the TV upgrade - he didn't mention digital freeview but did tell me a standard TV upgrade was expensive and you only got 4 channels. Come to think of it he didn't mention digital at all which leads me to believe its not an option?

I have seen in-car Freeview boxes advertised - try a Google search for "in car freeview", maybe?

CraigyB did this to my car and it doesn't work with the Audi setup. IM Craig for the details but I wouldn't bother as its been n place for 6 months and hasn't worked once.

Wow, didn't see that before now.

Craig was a great guy and has always heped out, what was wrong with what he did for the members here?

He runs an IT consultation company and this was a hobby, I for one think this sucks and is not a great move for the good of the forum.

I am sure that doesn't sit well with sum but oh well.

Just for the sake of the guys here Paz, what was his www again??

There are 2 sides to every story Damian, if you want the detail, feel free to call me. Otherwise, why do you feel the need to comment ? i.e. when not in posession of the facts ?
