Standard on all new RS4's. Dealer might have put a litre in the boot in a little "audi" bag. It is quite thirsty for the first few thousand then it settles down.

Best get another top up, you will need it soon...... I put 2l in mine within the first 3000 miles, has slowed down to virtually nothing now.

So pleased to read this. A bit pissed off as the salesman should have informed me of this!
What oil are you guys putting in? I could only find 5W 40 so put in 0.4 l which got it to half full.

Mine seems very frugal - under half a litre in 4,500 miles. I did a change at about 1,800 and it's needed nothing since.
Should point out that I have few chances to really thrash it - too much town & motorway driving at the moment...

Its 5w30 for longlife (30K km oil changes) or 5w40 for 15K changes.
Mine takes about 1l per 2000km or so. I'm at 21K now.

I fill up with Mobil 1, at the moment im using 0-40 but will fill up with 0-40,0-30 or 5-30 im easy.
TBH i think people panic way too much with regards to what oil is used,a good castrol or mobil oil of varying oil viscosity will be fine.
Its not a formula 1 engine.
