RS4 Top Speed

Did some runs this weekend while the car is still std.
4th gear max was 138 mph on the Speedo and 5th went straight to 169-170 mph. Went into 6th gear but the car just stayed at 170 mph and would not pull anymore. I could feel the drop in power as i hit the gas in 6th.
I read somewhere that the car was only limited in top gear and seems to be true.
I will do some more runs week after next when the limiter's been removed with some video footage.

I believe its limited to 7K rpm in top?
I've observed the same behaviour.
Out of interest, who are you getting the rev limited removed by?
I'll take a PM if you'd otherwise not say.

My limiter is removed, however I have not tested it yet.
Germany sometime.

The top speed on my B7 has been a gps verified 187 mph!! Its on youtube. Perhaps could get 190 genuine down a hill, but it sure aint gonna crack 200 mph

200mph takes around 550BHP in a car like the B7 RS4...

Is your car modded at all, bar the limiter removal?.Also, have you had a go at an M5 at all round the ring?.I still miss the performance hit of my M5, regards, SIMON.

From what i understand the top speed will be the same regardless of what
ecu mods are made, this is because there is no significant additional BHP gain at higher rpm.
To increase the maximum top speed mechanical changes are required and im not talking about just an exhaust.

Had 172mph (timing beam) in 5th gear & was probably about 50-100rpm from the rev limiter in 5th. My car has been de-limited & i hope to get a better idea of the VMAX in 6th Gear on the Continent this week.

The car has been remapped and delimited, was RR (I know there can be discrepancies with these) but came out with a healthy 437.6 IIRC.
Had a burn up with the burgundy press M5 estate which I know is slightly heavier than the saloon but there was bugger all in it to 140/150mph.
Don't know whom had it but they were driving mental.
