Retrofitting Ambient lighting

Has anyone got this as a standard fitting or has had it retro fitted, if so, what doesit actually consist of? I'm pretty sure that there are two red led's in the overhead console but I was told that there are some in the footwell too. I've got two small holes about 4mm in diameter at either end of the overhead console, I assume that is where the led's fit?

Wasnt aware it was an option, mine has two red led's in the rear view mirror which shine down on gear lever area... will have to study this some more now you mention it. Would it have been part of a Tech pack?

That must be it! I think the two small holes I have must be some form of sensors or mics then

Do these lights you have come on with side lights or do yo have to put them on manualy?

Most cars have this ambient lighting in the cockpit. Both the BMW and the Porsche have them.
Maybe it it something that is just deleted on Cabs?

Nope they are red led's that come on with the main lights. Can't say I notice them much though, nor the footwell lights.

Only high spec ones like S-line, S, RS, ... wasn't on my "poverty spec" TDi Sport.

Well it seems that I must be the only one without this then unless as suggested, that this is not fitted to Cabs. I've tried switching on the main light rather than leaving them on Auto, pressing the overhead button for the interior lights - Nada, nowt, zippo.
I might just have to look at the ones advertised as Genuine Audi fitments on flea bay.

I've had 3 Audis with this fitted, and never really noticed it. Most obvious when manually dipping mirror on my T-Sport Quattro because your fingers turned red...
You're really not missing much!

Right, this is the first time that anyone has said it appears on a Cab, so, can you take a pic of the lights or at least tell me where they are exactly and I know this seems a dumb question but how do you turn them on? main lights or seperate switch, interior switch.
This is totally unimportant I know but it's just bugging me now.

The best way to work out if you have it is to either put your hand on the gear lever (you'll notice the red glow), or look at the interior door pulls as they will be illuminated with a red glow too. You also get a red LED in the FCA, if you open it when the lights are on!!!!
