TBH & i know wheels are a personal thing, the size is nice but i really don't like the style. Perhaps they might look better on a different colour RS4, but i don't like them at all.

I'd agree. But if you like them rs4mal that's all that matters.
Is there likely to be a problem running unequal size wheels back and front (i.e. with diffs etc)?

it should be no problem because the diff has a learning function perhaps
audi R8 has a different front and reaR TYRES.
the 4wd system on the rs4 is d same as skyline r34.. as the gearbox are made by GETRAG

If the RS4 system is the same as the Skyline R34, then you SHOULDN'T be using different tyre sizes.
But you only mention Getrag, which means you are only saying that the gearbox is the same.
On the R34 the ATTESA system hampers the use of diff. tyre sizes.

sorry i mean same company make the gearbox which is getrag but the system not d same as skyline.
the gearbox on d rs4 work d same as r8 d only different is front n mid engine. example on r8 maximum size u can use rear 20*11j 305/25/20 front 20*9j 235/30/20. for d rs4 mtm setup wheel u can use 19*9.5j eta30 all around 275/35/20. but 4 d n/a car it will be too much drag on the straight line.on the setup on my car it felt much better d handling but i've tried michelin cup tyres on the standard wheel 265/35/19 as use on d m3 csl it was awsome at nurburgring. The reason i change the wheel just wanna look different for road use because most rs4 in uk look standard. when i go for trackdays i use standard wheels with cup tyres. im gonna change to stasis (ohlin) damper from u.s because d DRC are not so good when you want to nail the car it ok for normal sport driving but not for hardcore when you wanna nail the car at the corner in the track .
just cant wait to supercharged it. im waiting for mtm to come out with the price !! someone told me it will cost 20k is it true?

Hmm...don't know. I'd double check that. Just fished out the owner's manual and it says all four wheels must be fitted with tyres of the same type, size and tread pattern. I know the 4WD system is quite different, but from my Evo days you also had to use the same size wheels and tyres all-round. Not sure if the R8 has adjustments which allow it to run fatter tyres in the rear. I would imagine so given that it is mid-engined.

Totally agree with the above.
Most Jap systems, and 4WD systems require same size tyres/rolling circumference all round.
I think even the B5 RS4 requires the above.
Like Alex says I would check before you do any damage!

Seconded or even perhaps thirded, i've always been told that any AWD car should always have the same Tyre size & tread pattern on all 4 corners. I'm sure Audi will have tinkered with the R8 to allow the size differential, but your car is an RS4, not an R8.
Bimmer always have an offset, as my M5 had much wider rear tyres than at the front, but being RWD it doesn't matter the same.
Not technical enough to know if your differing tyre sizes will cause any damage, but i'd defo not follow that route & would obey what Audi state. Also bear in mind that Audi will no doubt try to throw out any warranty claim relating to suspension & drivetrain etc. given you've gone out of their recommended parameters.

Cheapens the car. Makes it look like it is on stilts.
