3 monthes free rs4 trial

Post by avant545 » Sat Jul 28, 2007 11:37 pm

Some of you might of read my earlier post reference my devon dealer forgetting to order my rs4 avant and this only camr to light after i had allready waited 3 monthes,so a deal was struck that i could have a new rs4 avant which i had to pay for and the dealer would then order my car to my spec, when this car arrived there would be astraight swap over with no money exchanging hands and i could put any mileage on it i wanted to,so i went for this and also managed to get them to throw in a set of genuine stupidly priced rs4 mats for my new car,so now to the 3 month update as i got my new car yesterday. The car they gave me to drive was fitted with bucket seats, phone cradle on dash and standard suspension, none of these things i have on my car. When i picked the car up on the 27/4/07 my first impressions were very dissapointing and i almost advertised my new specced car straight away as i felt the car was lethargic,to quiet and not much fun,but i thought what the hell i will live with it for the 12 weeks and see how we get on,weel all i can say is the car was sent back to the dealer 12 weeks later with 2500 miles on it and i can honestly say its the best car for 50k i will ever have,i have had no issues with the car at all,not a squeak/rattle nothing. At 1250 miles i started driving it very hard and wow the sound gets louder the more miles you put on no need for a milltek. The engine just gets better and better, much more torque and freer revving, its just a different car to when i first collected it.The seats were bucket and iam glad my new car was specced with recaro as the buckets look great but they get on your nerves day in day out heaving yourself over the bolsters, all my mates said when i first got the car i should of ordered with bucket but after a few trips they agreed the buckets are great for support but do get a little annoying if your in and out of the car alot,The suspension is another story the standard suspension is fantastic but the sports suspension is in another league of its own,you immediatly feel the difference going from one car to another iam very glad i ordered the ss kit.the first car was fitted with pirelli p zero where as my car has come with michelin pilot and they feel alot better even have a sticky feel about them.Build quality of these cars is superb and iam so glad i didnt sell my car ,fuel economy is a real bonus when i first got the car the dis was saying around 15mpg around town and country lanes, but as the car piled on the miles it got better and better and i was at the end of the 12 weeks i was returning 19.5 with driving hard no problem, new one have done 175 miles today and guess what dis says 14.7 mpg so guessing in time that will improve as well, the only mistake i have made with the new car is that i ordered i pod instead of cd changer its bl---y sh--,99 tracks the adapter does not for my nano ipod properly not a good move there. So to sum up this car may not set the world alight when you first drive it but believe me given time it gets better and better and at the swap over last night the salesman said i bet your glad you have you own spec car now and my reply NO IVE GOT TO RUN THE BLOO-- THING IN ALL OVER AGAIN.

I've not even got my hands on mine yet, but I've got a good few pages of lame excuses. Gonna have to try not to exhaust those in the first few days.....

I found it very useful (especially the Recaro/Bucket & Normal/SS+ comparisons) - content much more important than how it looks...

i must say second hand rs4 dont seem to be hanging around very long at my dealership and when i collected my new car on friday the sales manager said he would only be too happy to refund my money as he had a customer that wanted a brand new rs4 avant in sprint with recaros and he could not find another in the audi system. So keep hold of them boys,i feel they are not going to drop like stones in the near future.

cheers simon
