Extremely disappointing find-would love to hear your opinion

Hi everyone,

Today I was having the car washed and noticed something on one of my wheels, and unfortunately it turned out that the paint on it seemed to be peeling off. This to me clearly indicates that the wheel has been sprayed, and considering the fact that i bought my car brand spanking new only roughly 2 months ago (it has 1500 miles on it so far), this is clearly quite poor service from audi.

I'm inserting some pictures, and would love to hear everyone's opinions. I showed the car to my local stealer (finchley road audi) and they said they would get back to me.

This may seem sad but seeing this made me cringe, my poor baby! I love this audi.

Are they going to refurb the wheel? Really i'd want a brand new one... Should i demand that? If so what should i say?

Sorry about all the questions but any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

AL

I would ask them why they have been repainted before you got them.

Varsity had the same issue and got new wheels.

Had one of mine refurbed after dealer damaged it while in getting something else done. my wheel looks exactly the same and they have now ordered me a new one. Apparently
they are on back order until 10th August. The wheels are coated and no matter how well prepared, the paint will not key.

That is disgusting, they ALL must be replaced, and NO arguments, sorry unacceptable.

I'd say on a new car that is completely unacceptable. I wouldn't bet against the dealer refusing to give you new wheels as they may use the old "how do we know you haven't had them refurbed yourself since you bought it"...argument.

DO NOT take no for an answer and good luck.

Echo everything that has been said above

Firstly why was it "repaired", and secondly definitely demand a new wheel.

Refurbing it again, will only create the same mess later on.

After spending £50k+, you would expect a new wheel on a "new" car regardless of what happened to it originally

On a two month old car take nothing less than a brand new wheel and demand an explaination. Shocking!!

Disagree on that one Simon, I had some work done on one of mine 6 months ago and it still looks perfect. The work was carried out by a professional and not just sprayed over the top of the existing paint by the audi valeting dept..

its a wheel,.... ask for a new one and get over it

lol, maybe to you sykotoy. For me however this seems to be a highly unprofessional standard of service. I've bought an audi not a skoda. I expect much better and furthermore, this find, in my view anyway, completely damages the credibility of the dealer I bought the car from. How am I to know other things haven't been damaged and then hastily repaired. Regardless, I am 100% sure that if it was you in my situation you would definately be equally cheesed off... And its my first ever audi! lol.

Guys thankyou all for your feedback... appreciate it. I have demanded a new wheel and they have told me they will get back to me. One more question; is there a way to check if the other wheels have been treated similarly? If that is the case I can ask a whole set of new wheels. Also, I dont want to sound at all like i'm trying to make the most out of this situation but do any you think I should ask for something else?

Best regards,

AL
