Ceramic Brakes, an option?

Hi,
Have seen some RS4s in Germany and it seems that some of them had "Audi Ceramic" brakes and some did not, is it an option?

Yes, and an expensive one (with relatively few takers...)
The option was only added last year

Saw about 4 or 5 Avants with the Ceramic brakes for sale, and they were a bit more expensive....
Any experience with the Ceramic brakes? They seem quite a bit larger.

Why put ceramics on? The standard brakes are great and since it's not a track car they are really not needed.

They don't fade like the regular ones(?)

The standard brakes are very good and I've never experienced any issue with them for regular road driving. If you are planning on tracking the car a lot then ceramic would probably be a better option.

Yes they do fade, but the standard brakes are bloody good (nearly gave myself whiplash on my test drive)... as people have said the standard brakes are great for regular use (unless you drive like a nutter), but if you plan to track day your car regularly then the ceramics might be a better option but at £4500 (at time of ordering) or £8000+ (retrofit, apparantly) its your choice...

Or you can spend that 8000quid on a used elise or caterham and have 10 times more fun.
