Dealer kerbed two alloys - advice?

I've had two alloys kerbed by delivery drivers - one when the car was a week old (after Tracker fitted) and a bad one this week after an oil change

The dealer immediately offered to refurb this week's damage, and I've at last had agreement that they will also repair the earlier incident

Both were photographed on arrival (see attached)

Question is - should I be happy with the wheels being refurbished, should I demand new ones instead, or should I wait to see how good the repairs are?

Many Thanks

I had one of my rears refurbed by the Audi dealer - was a few inches long on the rim (not as bad as the above) but now the alloy is flaking off in big patches, all over and between and inside the spokes. Now I don't believe the rtefurb was a complete refurb on the whole wheel so should I also demand a new wheel? My car is 4 months old and has done under 4k miles

Not so sure how you would stand there since you allowed them to refurbish it to start with, but i would still go down the 'i want a new wheel' route for sure.
It's so frustrating when other's damage your car. Best of luck.

I would recommend you either get them to pay for new ones or get them completely professionally refurbed by a reputable company of your choice like lepsons. I wouldn't let them use their normal refurbishers. I found this out the hard way after now having to pay to get all 4 wheels stripped (due the dealer crappy refurb job) and redone properly.

I would have demanded new wheels, I know these referbed wheels don't last unless completely stripped back and done over.

These guys can do the Audi wheels right.

Agree, i have had alloys refurbed and they too are flaking all over the shop.

New wheels. Simple as that.

Nightmare... I'd ask for a refund on the car... OK that may be a bit extreme, but I would certainly demand new alloys, or if refurb is the only way then I would insist on someone like pristine wheels to do it in their works, not some local spray in a van boy and ensure you get a copy of the receipt to prove!.

My dealer did exactly the same, i demanded a new wheel and tyre as the tyre rim protector was damaged. I got both. Do not stand for it, these dealers are absolute muppets. In a non franchised commercial business these guys would not last a minute.

Should be new alloys with out question if you ge fobbed off call customer service 08457699777 the number seems to come and go off the Audi site
I got a confused responce last time i got my alloys check on my B5 fronts were 4.5 rear 3.9 and .9 dealer sead he could not cahnge the fronts under
warranty as out with the 2-4 mm allowance and he told me he had contacted costomer service, but i phoned any way and got Heather i think very helpful woman
and told me that there is a 2mm tolorance for the alloy so up to 6mm and got all the alloys changed even th .9mm one under warranty i know ths is
slightly unrelated to your problem but just it's not that i don't trust the dealers it that i just don't trust the dealers get on the phone and explain the
situation i'm sure you will get the matter resolved

I would demand new ones, it's the principal you had you wheels damaged while it was with the dealership. It won't really cost them anything, they have insurance to cover them.

Thanks everyone for your comments - looks like a refurb is not the way to go

Will keep you posted!

I had a wheel curbed by my dealer in december when the car went into them for some work.
Yesterday, after several attempts to refurb the wheel, they conceeded that it is not an option and odered a new wheel. There is a coating on the original finish which stops
the paint keying properly.
