Dealer kerbed two alloys - advice?
Dealer kerbed two alloys - advice?
I've had two alloys kerbed by delivery drivers - one when the car was a week old (after Tracker fitted) and a bad one this week after an oil change
The dealer immediately offered to refurb this week's damage, and I've at last had agreement that they will also repair the earlier incident
Both were photographed on arrival (see attached)
Question is - should I be happy with the wheels being refurbished, should I demand new ones instead, or should I wait to see how good the repairs are?
Many Thanks

RE: Dealer kerbed two alloys - advice?
I had one of my rears refurbed by the Audi dealer - was a few inches long on the rim (not as bad as the above) but now the alloy is flaking off in big patches, all over and between and inside the spokes. Now I don't believe the rtefurb was a complete refurb on the whole wheel so should I also demand a new wheel? My car is 4 months old and has done under 4k miles

Not so sure how you would stand there since you allowed them to refurbish it to start with, but i would still go down the 'i want a new wheel' route for sure.Adam wrote:I had one of my rears refurbed by the Audi dealer - was a few inches long on the rim (not as bad as the above) but now the alloy is flaking off in big patches, all over and between and inside the spokes. It's so frustrating when other's damage your car. Best of luck.

I would recommend you either get them to pay for new ones or get them completely professionally refurbed by a reputable company of your choice like lepsons. I wouldn't let them use their normal refurbishers. I found this out the hard way after now having to pay to get all 4 wheels stripped (due the dealer crappy refurb job) and redone properly.

I would have demanded new wheels, I know these referbed wheels don't last unless completely stripped back and done over.

Nightmare... I'd ask for a refund on the car... OK that may be a bit extreme, but I would certainly demand new alloys, or if refurb is the only way then I would insist on someone like pristine wheels to do it in their works, not some local spray in a van boy and ensure you get a copy of the receipt to prove!.
