Value of my car?

Post by hamski » Tue Jun 05, 2007 12:01 pm

I spoke to the dealer who I got my RS4 Cab from (1st March - £62k).

They seem reluctant to take it back in unless I'm p/exing. I've had a look, but can't find any private sales to compare to. Car's done 7500 miles - any one got any ideas what sort of money I should be looking for?

Thanks

OOOOOhhhhh, tough one that! Why dont they want it? This has to be the best time of the year to sell private.

They are apparently 20% over-stocked at the moment. I always assumed that higher value cars only tend to sell from dealers...am I wrong?

I agree that people want piece of mind with such a huge investment! Although, as we have heard/seen, Audi UK aren't always the best people to use.

Prior to my S3, I brought all my previous cars private because they were cheap. But, went to the stealers for my first 'large' investment....

Any particular reason why you want to sell ? Just curious as recently bought a cab myself and very pleased with it thus far. 7500 is a lot of mileage in 3 months........

The other problem is with the production of the RS4 comming to an end, and the dealers have way to much stock at them moment, give it a few months for the dealers to get rid of there stock, and it will be a different story.

Nothing sinister here. 7500 in 3 months surely shows how much I like to drive it. The engine, handling, pulling power are all amazing! Problem is that I'm currently working 6 days a week, and putting too many miles on it stuck in work traffic...just not enjoying it as I should.

I am concerned that with 30k mostly boring miles at the end of 12 months it'll leave me feeling slightly bitter.

Yes I do agree and now would be the time to move it on before to many more miles a accumilated, if your sitting in slow traffic then no point in having this type of car.

These are hard cars to value with most people wanting saloons and avants. The Cab weighs over 200kg more than the saloon so its more compromised. I used to own both an S4 Avant and an S4 Cab and when pushing it you could feel the extra weight. I'm sure that the Cab would sell better as an auto but there you go.

Anyway March's Glasses Guide listed the Cab as £54625 on a 56 plate at trade.

I don't think a secondhand one on a 56 plate will achieve that price though do you?.

Is that what they reckon a trader will give you, or what they will sell it for?

not now....Trade price for a 06/56 with 9k miles is £51,550 with the retail guide price at £55,000.

Private sale price would be somewhere between the two figures.

Not at all - dealers' don't like RS4 Cabs. They were overpriced new and don't have the enthusiast interest that the tin top RS4's have. I would expect most Audi dealers to run a mile, sorry. Personally anything with a 5 at the start would be a result.
