Just cant get it to work. Ive converted my itunes songs to mp3, extracted those songs onto playlist creator and then dragged and dropped onto the sd card. Im doing something wrong as every other chuffer can get them to work. Im no techie but could I ask a few basic questions to see if i can suss it out.
1) Does playlist creator just cross reference songs in the playlist to there destination? ie I put all my songs on the sd card and then my playlist so the playlist recognises the song destination and plays it?
2) If 1 above is not correct then does the .m3u file that playlist creator has created actually contain the mp3 song?
3) If 2 above is correct then I cannot see why it doesnt work.
Im hoping that 1 is correct then I can see why it may not work. When I just drag and drop the playlist without the mp3 files lying alongside the unit just comes up saying not readable but when I put all the mp3s on then the playlist I can get it partially to work. Im guessing that it could be down to character restrictions but if someone could clarify the above it would be a big help. Thanks

Listen forget all that, heres what I have done and it works a treat.
Load your CDs onto your computer in MP3 format, use the NERO program it's simple, Once on your computer, list your Albums (CD albums) in alfa order, then put your 2GIG card in the computer and drag the Albums in order one at a time from computer to 2GIG card, allow them to load one at a time. Once the card is full, put it in the slot in the car and it will be read in alfa order listing named albums and named tracks. Simple.

Crikey they were beauties. My Dad used to have eight tracks of people like Bread and the Eagles. Great days.

Dad had The Carpenters and The Beach Boys, those were the worst ones I can remember.

Arsey4, just rip them to the PC, load one album @ a time onto SD and job done.

Personally the playlists I have setup work fine... I use .m3u playlists for each album and the following structure -
SD Card Root
- Album 1
-- Track 1.1
-- Track 1.2
-- etc
-- album1.m3u (playlist)
- Album 2
-- Track 2.1
-- Track 2.2
-- etc
-- album2.m3u (playlist)
The M3U playlist takes the form of -
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:<track1 length in seconds>, <artist> - <track1 name>
track1.mp3
#EXTINF:<track2 length in seconds>, <artist> - <track2 name>
track2.mp3
etc
When you select the MP3 player in the card it scans all the folders and picks up all the playlists, then hey presto it works

Might be worth having a look at this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/rnse-mp3-mgr/
I haven't tried it yet but it looks very handy. Here's a screenshot:
