Has anyone had Armourfend fitted and do you recommend it for the RS4...?

I only have one reservation about it, the line that appears on the bonnet after a while....

Comments please...

Thanks

I have paintshield and it's the best thing I ever did, yes the line (if you point it out) is slightly visable, but it has stopped the front of mine looking <beep>, like other cars I have not had it on!!!!!!!

Not worth it in my opinion. My M3 and Noble had it and the line was quite clearly visible (silver and grey respectively)...people often commenting on that long "scratch on the bonnet!". The film itself protects the paint underneath but it begins to look shabby with its own chips and scratches and will possibly need replacement every 2 years or so anyway. Might as well get a quality respray of the front bumper/bonnet. I also found it hard to wax the armourfended bits.

The best way is to avoid driving up close to other cars. My Evo had barely one or two chips at the front after having owned it for nearly 2 years and 20k miles...and no armourfend. Just lots of TLC and layers of wax.

I am about to have it fitted to my brand new RS4. I've seen it fitted to Ferrari and it looked good. Based on the research I've done it would seem folks wouldn't recommend having part panels done such as the bonnet as the line looks obvious and terrible. Apparently, in the first instance you will see the film line part way up the bonnet. So you think you can live with that. Then you decided to take the film off the bonnet if it gets too tatty or you are selling. You then find you are left with a line across the bonnet of good condition paint V's the uncovered stuff. So you have to paint anyway!

I'm going for the front bumper, sills, wing mirrors and rear bumper where you load into the boot only (Avant)

Apparently some films are better quality than others with 3M being a tad behind now. Also some colours suit different films. The company I am going with use about three different films.

They have quoted me £450 for the above. Which I think is quite steep it was £310 until I added the sills.
