PLACED MY ORDER BACK IN MID FEB FOR A SPRINT BLUE RS4 AVANT,RANG DEALER THIS WEEK TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH LONGER AND GUESS WHAT CARS NOT EVEN BEEN ORDERED.MY SALESMAN HAS BLAMED IT ON THE SALES MANAGER WHO NOW NO LONGER WORKS FOR THEM AND TELLS ME IAM NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER THAT HAS NOT HAD HIS CAR ORDERED,IAM SO DISSAPOINTED.WHAT DO I DO GUYS,THEY HAVE OFFERED ANOTHER CAR THAT THEY HAVE COMING INTO STOCK,WHICH I CAN DRIVE WHILST WAITING FOR MINE,THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR THE CAR IN FULL AND THEN WILL GIVE ME THE FULL P/EX PRICE AGAINST MY ORDERED CAR WHEN IT ARRIVES IN SAY 3 MONTHES TIME,BUT IAM WORRIED AS WHAT HAPPENS IF SAY MY CAR DOES NOT GET BUILT FOR SOME REASON,SHIP SINKS,THE CAR THEY GIVE ME GETS SCRATCHED ARE THEY GOING TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK DONT THINK SO!!!THE LOAN CAR THEY WANT ME TO REGISTER IT IN MY NAME,PAY FOR IT IN FULL AND THEN WHEN THE OTHER CAR ARRIVES STRAIGHT SWAP OVER.WHAT DO YOU THINK GUYS IF YOU WERE IN THIS POSISTION,ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED AS I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE.

Bugger, thats terrible. The trouble is that if your car is not yet ordered then I can't see how you can get one to your spec because I thought that the Avant was no longer available - I might be wrong, I'm sure others will be along to confirm or not but if you do have to settle for something from stock then I would certainly press for some kind of 'deal' to compensate you.

That is such terrible service from your Audi dealer - which one was it?

thats awful, i would ring audi customer services and go mad at them.

The official line is RS4 production has been suspended for 12 months, as they have a waiting list of about 1000 units on the R8 and it is being built at nerckersulm quattro facility which currently does the RS4 finishing as well as pressing the lamborghini gallardo bodyshells, They are putting in their capacity to clear the initial backlog of R8 orders, after which they will resume RS4 production alongside the R8 albeit in lower numbers as before

What is the situation with the PEX value? are they giving you the full retail price you paid or trade book for the PX? in which case that is not a good deal. You should ring Audi UK customer services and get them to find a dealer car that is still spec changeable. my local audi dealer has a number of unsold RS4 saloons so i presume their are avants knocking about and a few spec changeable pending orders maybe.

Sprint Blue Avant sitting in showroom in Cardiff, well it was last week, and has been for the last two months

Cancel the car, get your depost back and go find one elsewhere. Ensure you get at least 8% discount on your new one, especially if its already in stock.

the dealer is south west audi,and just to clarify they tell me they have a sprint blue car coming in at end of month which they expect to pay for in full and the same price as agreed on my pre ordered car or in this case not ordered and then when my real car comes they wil l take back this car and let me have my ordered to spec car.My worry is what if audi say in 10 weeks time sorry chap order wont be fulfilled for some reason,iam then stuck with a car not to my spec etc,i think a call to audi tommorow and then to my solicitor.This is not the first time south west audi have ballsed up,i purchased a brand new a4 3.0 tdi last september and on the way out the showroom salesman said iam surprised your not going for rs4 avant we have a cancelled order would you like it,i said give me 1 hour and ill will go for a cup of coffee,i came back in 35 minutes to be told sorry car has been sold to another dealer,which is when i went berserk and they offered a discount on a new one but not alot.god knows why i went back to the stealers never again,will keep you posted.

Phone the dealer and ask to speak to the dealer principal and give him dixie...... followed by call to Audi UK and do the same. if it is the dealership I am thinking off (Poole), they have a history of this.

whilst very poor service the following deal would keep me happy:

guaranteed future car to your spec, backed up by Audi UK if production problems
buy the other car as arranged, which you drive around in for zero depreciation
a few extras on your spec car for free or additional discount

just to keep you posted,picked up my first rs4 avant last night,which iam keeping untill my own car arrives in 10/12 weeks,the dealer has agreed for this to be a free of charge swap over when my car arrives,he is also chucking a set of genuine audi rs4 mats which i know are a bob or two.Altough this car is different than my car in that it has bucket seats and privacy glass and phone on dash,iam now wondering if i should of gone for these items,oh well,first impressions are very good,car idles perfectly when cold,no sticky gearbox,and the sound is great!!!!,i was worried about sprint blue but now i have this car it looks gorgeous,was up to midnight last night cleaning it properly and it looks a million dollars now,thanx for all the advise and hopefully now the dealer will look after me in future,you can always dream.
