Do these spacers adversely affect the suspension setup/handling of the car? It does look very good

This isn't a standard or SS+ suspension setup. This guy has spent a small fortune on this and it looks really good for it. Maybe good for the States but not on the crap British Roads. Anyone noticed lately how bad the pot holes are getting in the UK? there seems to be hundreds of them all of a sudden.

You're not wrong there jezzer...I live in London and my cars usually "hop" around rather than drive on the tarmac! The state of UK roads is colossally bad. I'm thinking the non SS+ suspension might be the way for me.

yeah and four hundred quid for a years ROAD tax - our roads are a total joke...

You guys in london who pay congestion charge too must be really pi*sed off.

I have just fitted spacers to the rear wheels.10mm each side.Looks great and I dont notice any difference in ride quality.

Where did you get these from and how much? Does this not put extra strain on the wheel bearings?

H&R do hub sentric one's - i have them on my S4

Looks so much better and no negative handling effect's so far

Mine are H&R 10mm.bought them from Performance alloys.(performancealloys.com).

I've never used spacers before but I agree they do look very good in some of the pics.

But, can you get locking wheel bolts to fit them because the first thing that comes to my mind is security for those lovely (and bloody expensive) alloys. Call me paranoid if you like but I had three out of four wheels stolen from a virtually brand new car just three weeks after purchase (and this was with manufacturers lockers) just 18 months ago. They would have had all four if my neighbour hadn't spotted them - it was eight o'clock in the evening - but as it was the total damage was over four grand. Today I use McGard plus manufacturer's kit to try and hang onto them.

Assuming some decent lockers are available I may well consider the spacers. Otherwise, no thank you...

Yes.The locking wheel bolts are available from Mcguard.Mine are 10mm longer than oem bolts to go with 10mm spacers.

Never heard of McGard but I'm looking right now..

It's looks like the SL (Ultra High Security) bolts are the way to go - are these the best?

Anyone know what size Thread / Seat / Shank Length / Width I'd need to match the OEM bolts - there's 10 to choose from

McGard are tops (IMHO) and I have two sets (SL and standard) on my current car. I have already purchased the ones for the RS4 when it arrives and they are the same I believe as those for the A4, S4 etc. I purchased them here http://mcgardlocks.co.uk/ and just had to tell them the vehicle make/model for them to supply.

Good news that they do them for spacers - I may seriously look at some when the beast arrives.

Have you a rear view pic of your car with these spacers please?
