RS6 to RS4 Dillemma

I love my RS6..in the real world the most rewarding car I've owned (compared to 911c2, E46 M3), practical  , discreet, safe for wife and sprog and full of toys..but I fancy a change. No real reason other than I'd like a newer car.

I'm down for the new M3 at the end of the year and I'm tempted to hold on til nearer the time and p/ex the 6 or sell it privately then. But, I quite fancy the RS4 and my local stealer has offered me what I think is a reasonable price for mine against a used Avant they've got in stock. Not sure if this link will work, but its a Mugello Blue one in at £51,995 at Southampton and the spec is pretty much what I'm after anyway...

Two questions - is this a bit punchy on price for a car nearly a year old, when I could order a new one for £1k more? My gut feel is yes, but not sure what values are doing on the B7. Linked to this, is an offer of £29k on mine against this, a good deal? Mines a 2003/53 plate ebony black RS6 avant, 35,000miles, extended Audi warranty and mint.

Any words of wisdom much appreciated...

It's over priced, I would have thought but then again it seems most of the Avants on the used locator are that price. I wouldn't buy a 06 plate at 1k under list. Especially since there's a sat nav offer on on all A4s at the minute.

£29k seems a good price for yours but you'd still be better off selling it on pistonheads.

I've PM'd you.

Spoke to them today, really friendly and have a couple of interesting cars in stock, but couldnt even ballpark me on my RS6 as they need to see it, which is fair enough...

It should not be a dilemma - I loved my RS6 but dropped it off at the stealers this weekend and picked up my new RS4 Cab. Spent most of the weekend in the car with a smug grin on my face. Wow !!
(Dogs, kids, wife probably less happy, but hey......)

If you can buy an avant for a grand more than that price (£49,995), i will be supprised.

swings and roundabouts - good PX price but damn expensive list price on new car, only the net of the two is relevant.

I got a pretty good discount on my RS4 (in stock, near end of financial year, good timing etc) and £500 less than I was after on the PX (only a Polo) but maybe prices have firmed up now supply is limited. there are still plenty of second hand cars being advertised for more than I paid for new.

Still impressed with how year old cars only seem to have lost £4-5k at least at advertised prices, they may be sold at less of course.

New one sitting in Poole Audi for £54k but it's been there a while now.

Dont see it as dear car, has most extras, mine was 56K on the road and would expect to get at least 50 today for it...and thats with nearly 10 months of use.
