RS4 Cabriolet on order.

Evening people, I just thought that I'd introduce myself as I shall be an owner of a RS4 Cabriolet in about 12 weeks if the dealer is to be believed that is. Spec is now finalised as:

Sprint Blue with Blue roof and Silver Nappa leather
Carbon Fibre inlays and trim
Homelink
TV
Cool box
Auto dim - folding mirrors, auto lights and wipers
Doorsill protection (film)
Heated front and rear seats
Adaptive lights
Wind deflector

I'm trying to be very cool and calm about it all but actaully. . .

I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT - WHOOO HOOO :D :D

I've had a TTR for the last five and a bit years and loved it to bits so this is going to be a bit strange to drive about in at firsts I guess.

Anyway, I'll keep you informed as the time gets nearer for delivery. Good informative forum by the way

Good to see you on here.

I can't wait to see it

just my humble opinion, but you might want to think long and hard about the TV.

I have it in mine, and to be brutally honest, the reception is pants!

Definitely not worth 700 quid, especially when digital will be taking over in a few years anyway.

Regards,

James

Hi Paul,

LOL, I don't think a spanner of mine will touch this one

The way things are going, there are going to be more 'Other Marques' in the car park at Kneesworth than TT's soon

Hi James,
I thought long and hard over this and had a word with CraigyB (sp?) as well and you are quite correct in that Digital will be taking over soon but the thinking is that all the cableing will be there (obviously not the arial)and I should be able to retrofit some kind if digital receiver in to replace it eventualy, it's also only costing £355 +VAT and not £700.

Thanks for the heads up though.

thinking of retrofitting digital to mine already for extra channels - why would you need a different aerial when you don't at home for a freeview digi box?

I know this might seem a strange question but as I've never bought a new car from Audi before, what happens next? Do I contact the dealer for progress or should they contact me? All I have at the moment after paying my deposit is the copy of the order I signed for the car in a nice folder :? I know people get build dates - how long after the order is taken do you get this on average.

Any information greatly appreciated.

Graham, I might be joining the Audi fold again after a move to the darkside, saw your post the other forum, getting out of your TT is gonna feel very strange after this long ;o)

Graham,

Keep onto the dealer to get dates from them. They should be able to advise you of every step of the build process. I was getting weekly updates from my dealer to what stage the car was at. Which dealer are you using?

Hi Jason,
Yeah you're right, I can't beleive I've gone and done it! I threatened to once or twice but always backed down because it was such a great car to drive, it's just a shame I couldn't sell it mooded up, it was a cracking car to drive too, anyway onwards and upwards.

Now I'm excited about getting the RS4 Cab and driving it - can't wait

Hi Daz,
Thanks for that, I'll give them a ring tomorrow. I'm using Vindis in Huntingdon, I bought my TTR from them about 5 years ago so they know me on first name terms so it should be OK from that point of view. Up untill now I've had excellent service from them so I'm sure they are on the ball - you know what it's like though, all I've got is a bit of NCR paper with the spec and my signiture on it :(

You couldn't email me some pictures of yours so I can drool over them could you mate :D

The way I understood it was that you need to pester the dealership for the build date. Barring any logistics problems it'll be roughly four weeks after that your car wil arrive.

The RS4 and I believe the TT leave the main audi factory for finishing and testing. With a normal audi the dealer can tell you pretty accurately what is happening with your car. If it does leave the main factory the view is a wee bit more cloudy though.

Mine came early which was good, unfortunatley this was two days after I had to leave the country for a month for work which wasn't so good! This was however a whole six weeks earlier than initial estimates when I paid my deposit. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I ordered mine in Mid March last year, heard nothing until early May and then it all went mad. Build week was mid May, I got called on Tues 30th May to say it was waiting to ship, then they called me on Wed 31st am saying it had arrived in the UK and should be at the dealer the following week, they then called me later that afternoon to say that it had arrived at the dealer - I was down there like a shot. :D

Plenty pics of mine here
