Hi guys. Been many months since I've been on this site. I had ordered a RS4 which I cancelled back in June due to financial reasons. Also the RS4 was a little tight on space for my needs. Anyway I now have one of these beasts instead

Anyway, the fuel consumption on this car is shocking! I'm just wondering what you guys are getting on the RS4. In town driving (London suburbs) I'm getting 13mpg! What do you guys get?

Cheers

Yes, I am getting 14-16 unless on a long journey on dual carriageway/motorway.

Feck and there are times I bitch about 19-20 from my B5!!

What do you get on a long journey. Cruzin in the B5 at 78mph on cruz control usually gets me 22 but that is typically with two bikes on the roof.

Motorway / A Road, long runs getting a regular 22 mpg and not hanging around

Only had the car a few days so can't tell you what I get on a long A Road/Motorway journey. Seems like my car is a little worse than the RS4 but not that much. I suppose its something I have to accept when driving a big 4 door saloon with supercar power

To be totally frank I dont think thint anyone that owns one of these cars will be dithering about 12-18 MPG !!! Thats not what these are about. If it were, we wouldnt spend 50 or 60 K on them!!!

In town mpg drops to 16-17, on long run sat on motorways, 23-24 if I drive, 21-22 if cruise control used.........lol
But who goes out and buys a 4 litre V8 and worries........ figures are slightly better than I was able to get in B5 which never did more than 22.....

Average of 20mpg before the Budget (mixture of urban crawl, rural and motorway).

Average of 16mpg since the Budget. Why the difference? If Prudence is going to make me pay £300 or £400 in Road Tax for having a "gas guzzler" then I'm damn well going to enjoy it!!! So I'm using more lower gears, making more noise (pollution) and making more CO2 (pollution). Great "green" tax Gordon - NOT!!!

For those that have given sensible replies many thanks. I'm not going to be crying at night over the consumption but was just curious as to how the cars compared.

13mpg in my B7 but so far mostly high revs to hear the engine and London driving - would hope to get 25-30 on sensible mway driving but maybe I am being unrealistic? Boxster S used to do 30mpg at 70- 80 (kmh)

 Getting around 12 on a fast run home at night - all B roads, up to 22 on motorways.

Best ever, 24 and a bit; worst ever, 9 and a wee bit.

Guess which I enjoyed more.
