Just about to buy an RS4

Hi! After an absence from the Audi fold for 14 months (previous car a TTQS) I am about to change my current car, a Lotus Exige S for a more family friendly RS4 saloon. I have lined up a six month old silver car with less than 5k on the clock for £43,000 - dealer supplied. Only questions is, it does not have satnav. Do people think this is an issue? It is not for me, but I wonder about resale (in say 2 years time). Should I wait for another car? Is a retrofit possible at a later date? In all other respects this car fits my particular bill. Views appreciated.
Thx
Simon

Wow, some bloke in the "other marques section of the TT forum has just asked the same question

Sounds like a great price for the car though. Good luck.

Pure coincidence! No really. I thought I would come to the place for definitive advice.

Hi Simon,
I'm in a similar situation to you...about to sell the Noble to get an RS4. I personally would not consider a non-tech pack/sat-navved car as I feel you would have a tougher time when you come to sell. A little ridiculous I know as portable sat nav units are so cheap these days. The sat nav centre console also looks a lot better. Although the model you're going for only has 5k on the clock, I would imagine you can get the price down a little further still. I always aim for at least 1-2k less than what is advertised...especially if you have the money ready...usually works for me.
Good luck.
Alex

A good idea. I am new here too, but it seems the guys here know their stuff.

Hi Alex,
So far I have got the car down by £900 from the ticket price, but negotiations are not over yet!

I had similar concerns to you, although actually I am not that keen on the look of any (not just Audi) satnav displays in dashboards, so the ability to retrofit, if need be, at the time of sale seemed like quite a neat solution.

There's a similar car up in north yorks, but it has 18k miles for £42900.

rns-e sat nav can be after-fit , you need to speak to craigyb - you can then stick in a non-audi bluetooth phone prep , but I believe it integrates with the RNS-E (but dont take my word for it)
RS4 - I am well pleased with mine - 5 days on !
craig's website is

Skyman, if the car you're lining up is the one I think it is, then do you realise it only has 'sports seats'...?
I know for I personally wouldn't buy an RS4 without the buckets and nice steering wheel.

Depends how big your rear end is ! I've got the buckets and they are FANTASTIC , really hold you and incredibly comfortable - BUT if you are a large lad or have got a big bird, then no way will you fit it

Not sure if we are talking about the same car. I am informed this has the RS4 seats with extended shoulders and harness holes. These are the proper seats, right - not the Recaro fully adjustable/electric versions? Where is the car you are thinking of?

I'm talking about the car on the audi used car locator that matches your description

I was told this afternoon it has RS4 proper bucket seats. Is this incorrect?

It's hard to say given there's no pics online but the description says 'Sports Seats'. Normally when they come with the RS bucket seats it will say that. Dunno though
