Do you still need my Vagcom to recode it?

Oh and if you are doing this in an RS4 Cab you need to tell Craig as a different microphone needs to be ordered.
Cheers,

How long did it take? Can you see any dodgy joins in trim afterwards? U done this before?

about 2 hours from start to end, no hurray. Trim 100% perfect, not one mark or scratch. Never done this before, first time :)

I really admire brave people like you, excellent coverage. You'd not want to see the mess I would get into if I had tackled this.

Hi there from a newbie.

Andy, this thread inspired me to put one in our RS4 Cab this afternoon so many thanks. Was surprised how relatively easy it was. Craig- one thing, you need to amend the instructions to say 6 x 8mm bolts- I was tugging for ages until I came back indoors and re read this thread about the hidden bolt!! My wife thought it rather amusing to watch me running backwards and forwards looking at your pictures!! Also, not sure if you knew but there was already a mic in the interior light of our car.

One quick question for anyone- it works but the Sat Nav is saying no telephone connected. Do I need this VAG-com thing that is mentioned? Or rather cheekily, is there anyone near Southampton that could help me?

Thanks

Ian

Yes, 6 bolts if you have a CD changer or a cabriolet, but the extra mic is because you have BOSE. So you will have 2 mics, one for the phone and one for the BOSE.

You will need the RNS-E VAGged to fix the message and also your cluster, PetrolDave is in Southampton, I'm sure he will recode them for you.

Ah, I disconnected the other mic, took it out and swapped it with the one that you supplied me. Should I reconnect it again? Why does the BOSE have a mic?

If anyone is thinking about doing this, I am no expert and I did it and Craig was very helpful with my questions pre delivery! Craig- many thanks for the speedy delivery as well, much appreciated.

Yes, you should put the old mic back and reconnect it or your BOSE system will be broken. It listens to cabin noise.

Got mine installed on Friday, and works exceptionally well. Best bluetooth kit i've ever used. Nice one Craig.

Mine was factory fitted, as well as the unnecessary piece of dashboard furniture, the mic pick up sounds like in the other side of a large room to the person on the other end. Has anyone else had problems, is there something easy I can check, or is it a trip to the dealer???

The pics are great, but this car is a cabriolet that has two round mics in the lighting dome, one at each end, BOSE and TEL.
