Scottish RS4's

Hi guys,
I have just signed up to RS246 as i am looking to get a B7 RS4 in the next month or so. I have my eye on one just now in Missano, with tech pack and a few other goodies.
I was wondering if there were many B7 RS4 owners - who are registered on this forum - in scotland, particularly in Aberdeen as i have only seen two RS4's going around.
I have just sold my E46 M3 and was out in a 200 S4 this morning, nice sound from the V8, so i have high hopes for the RS4..
Has anyone on here done the same change, M3 to RS4 and how did they find things, i fully expect the RS4 to be a fair step up in performance..
cheers

Hi Boyner
Did the same step M3 to RS4 Avant about 8 weeks ago. I've found the performance similar below 70 mph, but noticeable quicker above. You'll notice the torque, It's so progressive and pulls from 1200 rpm great, probably why it doesn't feel much quicker then the M3 at the bottom end. You can be really lazy with the gears in your not in a rush. Gearbox is so much smoother. I'm still getting used to the 4wd, and I can imagine I will get caught out at some stage as it leads you into corners at discerning speeds. No more tail out slides with this thing, it's so neutral either quick into corners or pushing hard on the exits. Build quality is a step up from the M3, feels and sounds a solid car, no rattles or notchy door handles. I would ensure you get the auto lights and wiper option. Tech pack great, and hands free phone 100% better then the old Motorola system fitted in the M3, no echoing. It makes you smile every time I drive it, just for the noise, even at 30 mph in 4 th, sounds great.

I live in Queeen's Cross area of Aberdeen and have a Mugello Blue RS4 Saloon with Milltek exhaust.
Had an E36 M3 some years back and RS4 is a different beast. My last 2 cars were a re-mapped RS6 saloon and a Twin Turbo Porsche, so I do not get a shock by the more than adequate performance of the RS4 as it is obviously not as quick as the last 2. Love the user friendliness of it though.

Hi Boyer,
There's quite a few running around Aberdeen. I've seen at least 8 over the last couple of months alone.
You can test drive Thieves avant.

I was up there at the weekend but they have now sold the avant and it will be a couple of weeks before they get another one in.
I will keep an eye out but there don't seem to be many of them kicking around.

That's a pity you missed the Avant. I was out in it last Wed.
Brooner and I demo'd their first Misono saloon what must be 6-8 months ago. Can't comment on the comparison between a 'Beemer' as I wasn't allowed to rev the M3 past 5.5k the time I demo'd it as it had just been fitted with another new engine!!! It was a cab and boy did it rattle and squeek - salemen said all cabs whether its a Merc or Audi do the same!!

What is it with Aberdeen and fast cars, especially RS4s?
Is it the wonderful scenery and open roads, or is it just that there's money in them there oilfields...

Aye sometimes I think there are too many buggers with too much money and no sence - ready to accept anything. What's the saying a fool and his money......
PS Just picked up my B5 from Specialist Theives in Aberdeen. I've never seen so many new Audis for first Reg. There are at least 4 new RS4s waiting to go to their new owners. I got a good idea of what the various colours look like in the flesh.
There is a Misano Avant with blacked out rear windows - my favourite - not sure about the windows as the fronts aren't tinted.
Daytona Avant and Saloon
Avus Avant
The new TT in Misano looks pretty stunning and VERY surprisingly for me white looks very nice too. Apparently they have something 50 cars going out! So there was another bunch somewhere as I only saw approx 25 cars.
