Time to say goodbye to my RS4..

After 3k miles of sheer enjoyment.. its sadly come the time to say goodbye.
I have a new (ex demo) 335d A Coupe on order, and it will be with me just in time for xmas. So was looking to sell my mint RS4 in Nov.

However after just two days of putting the word around to some friends and family, i had 2 guys interested in purchasing my car off me..

After plugging away at some figures today, one of the lucky guys has landed the car. Achieved £51k for the RS4 Saloon, so a £2k hit in 4 months.
This ownership experience has come to an end on a good note, and i really have nothing bad at all to say about my ownership experience to date.

My bluetooth connectivity issue was sorted, and nothing else has gone wrong with the car at all. After a careful run in, ive started to see improved MPG figures, and have kept an eye on the oil, and have topped it up slightly on two occassions. Check tyres regularly, and kept up the pressure on them.

Very pleased in every way, now its going to be a very very short couple of weeks before the new owner comes and takes it away! tried to push it back to Dec as much as possible, but no go.. for the price im getting i think i've done well, so not going to push my luck.

Its been great guys, thanks for all the tips/comments etc.
Definitely will be buying another S/RS car in the future! can't reccomend it enough. Sadly i get itchy feet too quickly, and i think i enjoy the build up to a new car more then when i own the damn things.. stupid i know, but thats the way it seems to be. Plus also not using the RS4 enough to warrant the ownership expense right now, but once i've rejigged things a touch, maybe getting another to keep my garage occupied!

Will definitely reccomend the new owner comes on here and introduces himself, he runs a classis 93 M5 in mint condition right now, rebuilt mainly from scratch, and the RS4 will be his main family motor during winter months when his M5 goes into storage.

Tell you what, it was hard to find another car to tick all the boxes that the RS4 did, but the 335d will do for now, until the new M3 shows itself im sure. Then back to the new RS6 at that point should it become available anytime soon after that!

Thanks again guys, and happy motoring!!

Thats a shame Kam, changing to an oil burner as well, quite a shift. Happy motoring.

I went the other way, dumped my BMW E60 530d for my RS4
Best motoring decision I've ever made
Only thing is I still have a 2 yr old deposit on a new M3, might be tempted BUT only if there is a saloon version.

I've run a 535 as a daily driver for two years now and it has grunt. That 3 series with the same engine is going to be an absolute hoot.

A hoot all the way up to 4500 RPM

The only things that should run on diesel are things that move earth.

Hhhhhhmmmmmmm, why would someone only save £2k against a new one for a used RS4? Or, is there a long waiting list etc. Some people just can't wait :biggrin2:

Combination of, doesn't want to wait for a new one.. plus doesn't want to buy another used one as he knows there are a lot of ragged ex demos around, plus can verify where mine has been, how it has been driven etc.

Also he loved the colour combo of mine, and with only 3k on the clock, and the comparison with equivalent cars on the market at the time of agreement, the price was set quite fairly.

Also, he is a friend of a friend of the family, and he liked the entire package we were able to put together for him.

I think diesel cars are ace now a days, my girlfriends diesel golf is soooo much easier to drive briskly around town! No good on the B roads though

Hi guys,

I'm Steve and i'm buying Kams motor.
As Kam pointed out my e34 M5 is currently undergoing some expensive work (rebuilt engine with schrick racing camshafts, gearbox, diff, new clutch + some other bits n bobs) and the decision was made to store that over the winter and get something else to transport me and the family around.

Have loved the look of the RS4 since it was released and a good deal was struck between me and Kam that obviously we are both happy with. Car is the right colour, good spec and available when i need it (sorry Kam)..

Look forward to asking some dumb newbie questions as soon as i get my hands on it in November...

Kam, you take good care of it for me!!

Seems a very odd story. How can someone love a car, only do 3k miles (not even run in) and then sell it? :?
